i second that...
when i first got into a turrent i thought it was a walking mech, someone definatly needs to make something...or even a battletech universe mod....that would make UT2004 the best game in the world

I can't model or map, but I've had an idea for an Assault map where the attackers are aliens trying to destroy Tokyo. The defenders get helicopters and jetfighters. The attackers get flying saucers, a 'mothership' (aka movable spawn point), and a giant robot - the robot being the only vehicle that can destroy most objectives (important buildings).
There'd also be a reporter that runs around and bugs the defenders. And maybe a small child that can summon Godzilla.
This would take way too much work, though.

a godzilla TC would kick ass. but how would you do that tho....it couldnt be online. it would have to be single player....you be godzilla and the bots spawn as mothra and the others.....

Im actually working on a model right now of a mech of my own design. It about twice the height of a player, and has a seating position similar to the APU in Matrix Revolutions. The thing Im worried about is the amount of coding its going to take to get it working. Ive been looking through the code, and its gonna take a while to get it working right.

I also was thinking of making a mech/mechs but that will be a long time away. I can't even start until after the contest. But I am 90% sure I'm gonna do one. It has to be sleek and anime style and will probably take a long time to do but I wanna do it :D

I really would like to see the following vehicles:
- Mech
- Transport (ground/air based)
- Bike/Hovercycle
- Sea Vehicles
If I had to choose one thou, it would be a mech. :)

Cool! Have made it by yourself from the beginning?
Any pics?

Dude...I was actually considering sea vehicles last night...but not sure if that would be possible....I would assume that they would have to have the flying abillities to work and some how when its submerged , to not be allowed to go any higher. I was thinking of doing an under water map......but I think that would be to much strain wouldnt it? On the pc's that is.....I dunno....ima gonna go ask epic....brb!

There's a variable you can set to make an actor buoyant. All you'd need to code would be the propulsion.

I found a Thread with pictures of an APU model (the big mech from the matrix) on it. The thread is located at: http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~polycount/ubb/Forum2/HTML/008308.html It is a UT2003 model but maybe someone could convert it to UT2004 if they could get in contact with the guy who made it.
[EDIT]
I found the e-mail adress of the guy making the APU its steveroyer24@aol.com maybe someone whos making a mech should e-mail him and ask him if he's made the physics engine for it yet, it might be easier to convert the physics engine from UT2003 to 2004 than to start over from scratch.
