UT 2004 crashes

I recently installed UT 2004 on my PC and everything works fine so far as long as I dont connect to the community, join a server or start my own server. Everytime I wanna try that, my UT freezes and I have to shutdown my PC, not even the task-manager will start anymore to stop the program.
Does anybody have the same effect, is there a patch? I repeat : Everything else works(!) and the game runs fine in the single player mode.

I think you've installed something into UT what implicate these freezing. Check ServerPackages= ... in your UT2004.ini

sounds like a firewall blocking acess

I've got a same kind of problem...
I can play sometimes normally, but....sometimes the game just jamms the whole computer!!!:cry:
The screen goes black and the computer stop responding. All I can do is to shutdown the whole s**t!
I have:
Radeon 9600pro(128mb), AK39N motherboard, about 500mb memory and integrated soundcard
What's this all about??!!!:bulb:

... I shutdown my ZONEALARM private firewall and tried again, but as I assumed the PC crashed.
If this would be a firewall problem I might not gonna get a connection but ZONEALARM never caused a system crash before and hopefully never will.
Any other ideas ?

I've had the same thing happen with 2k3 and now 2k4. Still havent really figured it out yet.
