I have a ATI 9700 AIW and i had alot of the stuttering, loading, and other common issues that are posted on this board. I think I might have a solution...only thing I want to test now is my FPS and what it SHOULD be at. Can anyone guide me in how to test this and if so what should the FPS be @? If this test runs ok then i think I may have done it!

I read somewhere on here that online the most possible FPS you'll get is 90. Don't know if it's capped for single player mode...

First, I set the Virtual Memory file to the highest setting. I also put it on it's own partition when I did the paging file increase. Then I put ALL the settings on high I'm even running on 1600x1200 res. The only option I unchecked is Preload player skins. That seems to KILL my loading time...so I tried it and thte loading time became less then half when I turned that option off. Also I put in the NEWEST catalyst drivers(4.3). The last thing u do is go to start>run type in MSCONFIG. Go to services and uncheck ATI HOTKEY POLLER & ATI SMART. I read on this board that those 2 arent imporant and that stopped the stuttering by ATLEAST 90% if not all of it. All these things I got off this board but I just did all of them and now my game works like a champ. You guys said i should get around 90fps...but HOW do I TEST that or check how many FPS i'm getting?????

Bring down the console by hitting ` then type "stat fps" to get realtime FPS. Close the console my hitting ` again. Repeat the stat command to turn it off.

Somehow i feel like i've never sat on a computer before and i thought i had adequate computer knowledge. Guess not. How did you manage all that? How did you increase the Virtual Memory Setting? And how did you put it in its own partition?
