Sometimes when I join a server the map isn't the same as the server map.

I had a friend host a server, and about half the time when I joined it, I went to a different map than he was waiting for me on. It looked like I was connected to his server on that map with no other players present, but he wasn't on the map I was on.

When the map changed the game hung as well, forcing me to rejoin his server and go to the correct map he was on.

Any ideas what would cause this quirk?

I spoke to my pal today and he told me that he had accidentally run a dedicated server inthe background, so sometimes I would connect to that one, the other time I'd connect to his interactive one.

Very sneaky. Problem solved.
