some static meshes wont duplicate!

some static meshes wont duplicate...and place many of the same type would take forever...is there a fix???

I had this problem in ut2k3, i have no idea if there is a fix.

How are you trying to duplicate it and are you sure it is selected (yeah, dumb but necessary question)?
