I started having a bunch of problems with the last 2-3 sets of ATI drivers (man- if it ain't broke don't fix it) and had been getting some really bad random corruption with 1942. The screen would blank out, all kinds of corruption. Totally unplayable.

Anyway I've been pulling my hair and i finally came up with what fixed my problem. Please note that I think this works only for me because I'm using a DVI (*not* VGA) connection to my Hitachi 17in LCD.

Go into ATI's advanced control panel and enable that 'alternate DVI' setting (I think that there are 2). I'm not at my PC so I don't recall the exact wording but it's something like that. I'm also using the 3.9 drivers though it may work with the 4.3's as well.

Must have something to do with my DVI flat-panel and the high resolution I'm running or something....way beyond my knowledge....just glad it works.

Hope this helps!

System Specs-
Shuttle SNG41
AMD 2800
Win XP (patched to the gills)
2x512 GB Corsair (I only have a 15-20 second map load time - I think this is the reason!)
WD 80GB w/ the 8MB Cache (this helps load time too)
ATI 9700 Pro
Hitachi 17in LCD via DVI interface (15ms refresh rate- sweeeeeett....)
I run great completely maxed out.

This game is going to cause me some serious sleep depravation.

and just a word to those with issues - hang in there! The hype Atari/Epic has with this version will guarantee patch after patch of pure bliss I'm sure.
