Map Loading Screen (Problem?)

Heya.....

I was just wondering...

When I connect to a server, and the map loading screen comes up (you know, it says Loading MAPNAME, blahblah), is there supposed to be a picture or something for a background? I get nothing but the text with a black background, and I wasn't sure if that was the way it's supposed to be. In the demo, there used to be some random picture as the background, but the retail release, at least for me, only shows black there.

If I'm the only one experiencing this, I'd like to report it as a bug :D .

Anyone else see this?

PS: no other problems whatsoever.. game runs great at maxxed out details!

I have the exact same problem. Perhaps it's a bug, because others have told me that they see a loading screen like in the demo. Or maybe we are running this game at very low graphics setting that turns the screen off.
Do you do anything special to lower your graphics quality?

i've got the same problem, i seem to remember getting a picture the first time i ran the game but not since. maybe it's something to do with copying over the user.ini that i set up for the demo(which i did)?

:edit: i just went back to the default user.ini and the pictures are back so there must be something in there, not sure which bit though

Make sure that you have these lines in user.ini:

[GUI2K4.UT2K4ServerLoading]
Backgrounds=2k4Menus.Loading.loadingscreen1
Backgrounds=2k4Menus.Loading.loadingscreen2
Backgrounds=2k4Menus.Loading.loadingscreen2
Backgrounds=2k4Menus.Loading.loadingscreen4

Mine loads for quite a while on the black screen with text, then opens a screen with the background picture and map name (more loading...) and then enters the game.

I had copied over my 'User.ini' from the demo, which didn't have these lines in it, but had the backgrounds. I had also made a backup of my newly-full-install of UT2K4 'User.ini', and used the lines from there to paste into my copied file.

That did the trick!
