It added a file called ctfmon.exe... I read up on it on microsofts site and was wondering if I remove it will I have any problems with the game? I assume it is just for speech recognition. Since I dont give a crap about that assuming that is all it effects I dont want to waste my memory running this program in the background all the time not to mention any extra CTDs or errors that may come with it...

Anyone know more details on why UT2k4 installed it and the effects of removing it from my computer?

From Black Viper's (http://www.blackviper.com) website.

ctfmon.exe: This is your "Language Bar." Don't know what it is? I bet you do not need it. Head to Control Panel -> Regional and Language Options -> Languages TAB -> Details BUTTON -> Language Bar BUTTON (under "Preferences") -> select the "Turn off advanced text services" check box. This little detail will save you between 1.5 MB and 4 MB of RAM. If you are using a "non-US" version, you may be required to install the English localization to remove this "feature."

UT2004 causes it to run because of the text to speech option in the game.

I dont have this check box. I have a "Show the language bar on the desktop" boxes and a few others. What gives?

I have the English version Windows XP Pro. SP1.
