Flak Monkey is an insult, saying that you play too much with the Flak Cannon (which is viewed as a no-skill weapon, since you just aim, and stuff flies out in a cone shape and it's hard to miss =P).
Whether or not you agree, that's up to you. But yep, after 15 kills with a flak cannon, you get that message.

Don't forget there are also awards such as "Combo Whore" and "Head Hunter". :D

i don't think flak monkey is an insult. and contrary to some people's opinion... the flak cannon takes just as much skill as some other weapons. Probably more. the minigun... easy to aim.. you know when you pull the trigger... the bullets are pretty much an instant hit weapon.... while the flak.. you need to lead your target and guess his path... also the further away the target is... the less damage the flak cannon does.

No matter what weapon, it is always an annoyance seeing people running with the same weapon for the entire match. Especially, weapons like the minigun and green meanie. The flack is pretty annoying...

k....why should anyone switch there weapon just because someone thinks there're whoring with it.......?...If I find that I'm getting all the kill with one weapon...(Flak in this case) without having to switch to other weapons....I don't give a damn....at the end I'm the one whos still alive.......

yeah, if someone is a weapon whore then you just have to discover the strategy that works against that weapon..
for exapmle:
rocket whores dont handle point blank confrontations well,, they die too. and jumping is harder to deal with while using a RL
sidestepping/dodging works wonders against the LG/Sniper rifle
telefragging pretty much works against anyone with any weapon if you practice

Exactly, If i have a choice of weapons i will use lightning gun every time, if i miss then i switch to the next best weapon depending on range and after a few shots i switch back. shield gun always at the ready.
if someone cant switch weapons then do as bear say's if that someone is getting all the kills then maybe he/she knows what weapon works best and so you need to find one as well.

I love telefragging campers :D
nothing let's them know they messed up worse than getting telefregged...
also if i'm just comming out of a translocation.... and someone is right there... i don't bother switching weapons... i just try to telefrag that person too.... it's the best!

Yeah, the Flak Monkey has been misinterpreted too many times to count...
I don't think it's any more of a spam weapon that a few others out there... it's UT. Pure mayhem... I love turning a corner and there's an opponent right there, boom! death by flak!

Definitely - especially in tight corridor situations as in BR-Disclosure, wait till they're close, one shot & down they go.

Tht's funny, I thought it was Flak Multi, as in Multikill.
Oh well.
How do you get the Headhunter and Combo Whore?
(I know that they're with the Lightning/SR and Shock Rifle, but how many kills do you need to get?)

I don't agree. I love it when I have an RL and fools start jumping around. You can easily predict where they will land, and shoot their feet:)

You get Headhunter by making 15 headshots with the sniper rifle or lightning gun. You get Combo Whore by getting 15 kills with the Shock Combo....
Getting the hang of it?
Oh, and the SR in Lightning/SR is Shockrifle. :p

actually the SR in LG/SR means Sniper Rifle.. I dont know if you actually can get headshots with the schock rifle.. either way, headshots are most often accomplished with lightning gun or sniper rifle since you can zoom in

The LG is a excellent weapon at distance and in close. At distance usually either a headshot (always) or two hits will kill — unless the target is loaded up with shields and health. Up close it is often a one hit weapon.
The FC in 04 has been tamed a bit from 03 & 99. The primary fire just does not seem as potent. On the other hand the secondary fire seems stronger. A good seconday shot on a Manta or Scorpion takes them out right away. The FC remains the weapon of choice for us pool players indoors.
The minigun — what a great weapon. Good all around and something to always have handy to pull out. Secondary fire is very potent in a running battle with Mantas, Scorpions and even Raptors at medium range.
When it comes right down to you use whatever works — I'm sure if there where hand-to-hand combat in this game we'd be discussing the pros and cons of the groin kock v the elbow to the head.
:D
Oh and to answer the original title of the post a Flat Monkey is a Flak Monkey that lost to a Manta.
