Post Embarrassing moments.
It took me 10 minutes to realize how to exit the play list.

About a year after I got onto the online UT(99) instagib scene I'd established myself as a pretty good player and I thought, "I'll broaden my horizens and give NW a try," so I played through the single player mode on masterful and most of the way through inhuman to get myself (I thought) up to scratch, then the day came, online NW.
The map was Deck16, the game was UT, the server was the jolt public Deck16 only NW server (hence the map duh@self), I was ready to rock.
Spawn, run around find the pulse or something, sh*t, got a shock combo in the face, dead. Spawn, get the rox, get caught in a flak vs ripper fight, fire rockets semi-randomly, gibbed by flak. Spawn... etc etc
I managed probably about 8 kills in 10-15 minutes and most of them were probably sniper kills cos I could at least aim hitscan weps well.
Damn it felt embarrassing, people who'd been in the server 2 minutes had a higher score. That put me right off NW again.
I still do play a bit of NW now and again and I'm not a complete noob but I still do suck a fair bit lol :haha:

Running triumphantly back to your base in CTF - realising you've somehow lost the enemy flag.
Knocking a teammate off into a lava pit/killing them/etc. Especially bad when you've been playing red for ages, then switch to blue and have to keep reminding yourself 'shoot the red guys, shoot the red guys' :D

I had a really embarrassing moment yesterday during a clanmatch, but I've embarrassed myself enough. :p

That's definitely the worst. It happens to me all the time in 2k3, too... seems like items (flags, weapons, etc) are a lot harder to pick up than in UT. You've got to go right through the dead center of the item or something.
Still though...
"Yay, pwnage!"
"Huh?"

drinking then puking and having your mom find you on the bathroom floor at 4am...
but the best part is that she thought I was just sick...until my sister told her the truth...

I REALLY hate that. Even though I rarely play CTF lol.
Its like your wondering at points, "Is it me, or do these guys not know whats going on?"
That all changes when you get back to base tho. You make a big dodge jump to your flag.....and then theres that "WTF?!" pause.
For me, the worst is getting beaten in 1v1s. Thus I don't 1v1 a lot :p. DM for me only :(

Back in the days of Quake II Lithium, right when I first started playing online, I was playing on this server one day and there was this one guy who seemed interested in me (I should mention that I am a guy and, at the time, was 15). He said ASL, and I replied honestly: 15 M NH.
Then he started going on this rant or something about how 15-year old male *********'s are tender and things like that (this guy was either trying to creep me out, or was an out-in-the-open pedophile), so I spent the next two hours, wihle he was on the server, telling EVERYONE what he said. He kept telling me to shut up and stuff, it was funny.
Not that I was embarrased, but he prolly was.

On a related note, running back to the enemy's flag area when you have the enemy's flag and you don't realize it.
