DM-CryptOfGaros looks great.
I really like the color of the walls now. They weren’t bad before but... they now look more realistic now with the brown turned down a bit.
This map should win an award for the “Most effective use of elevators”.
Most maps use elevators so other areas of the map can be reached. In this map, the elevators offer a strategic element to the game play, which greatly improves the maps flow.
The stained glass windows look perfect to me.
My only complaint was this version of the map ran slower on my rig (P4 1.5 FX 5600), even choppy it times. I don’t remember this in the other beta versions.
I consider this one of my top 10 maps (I would like it to run better though)
:) :) :)

Stop comparing to Quake, there's no competition between the two, UT2003 kicks it butt. Just because it's brick textures, doesn't mean it's quakish.
As for speed, runs 40+ fps on my rig, XP2100 Ti4200. Guess thats why the Ti's are still better then the 52xx and 56xx cards.
As for the map, I love the Z, even thou I'm not a Z fan, but it offers plenty of escapes, and the steps are well placed to go and hide, not much action on the steps.
Visuals are great, like the rounded look, much better then the old crap sqaure room and pillar look.

Nice mappage, fun to play. The only weird thing I noticed was that the red eyes actually bleed through the brick in some places. I'm running a Radeon 9000 Pro with the latest drivers. Maybe it's just me. It really is no big deal, just wanted to mention it.

I've seen visually interesting maps on MapRaider (never played Quake). Not to mention Dubbilan is imo one of the best mappers around! So bad there's not a map from him in the CBP (he was in the list! )

hmm, ok some linkeys to quake3 artists I like
lunaran (http://lunaran.fov120.com/maps.php)
the last four maps he has made are all absolutely jaw droping maps.
charon (http://www.interactivedeath.net/)
this guy has made some mind blowing maps in terms of combining gameplay plus nice geometry. Download maps consecutively from 5quid to flea fights, and timeless classic. all absolutely awesome.
quaker x (http://www.planetquake.com/quakerx/index.htm) grindill 2.0 station 52 and dead cells are my fav's.
I really liked some of bal's work but unfortunately his site is not up anymore :bulb:
nunuk (http://www.planetquake.com/nunuk/maps.htm) I like his last three maps alot. He's more of an artist tho check this out, click all the links at the top of this website to see the absolutely massive amounts of mindblowing pieces he's done.
nunuk's artwork site (http://perso.wanadoo.fr/arth/home.htm)
I would post friction purely for one map by him Iron yard, but unfortunately his site is non exsistant so this is a link to a review of iron yard (http://www.planetquake.com/bighouse/reviews.asp?id=82)
there are so many world class maps out there for quake 3 but these are my few favorite quake 3 mappers.

I will SURELY try Quake sooner or later! Btw, nice articles from Lunaran about DM flow, architecture, etc. VERY interesting.

Sorry for the off topicness, finished editing now ;)
btw yeah lunaran has very good articles on flow and architecture, I keep his articles to mind when I map. I wish he would devote his mapping skills to ut2004 tho, its a shame as he could do much greater things on this engine. that goes for charon as well. Well anyways sorry for the spammage.
--edit--
Oh, one last thing, dont get quake, get quake 3 gold. ;) try out team arena when you play out of the box, the team arena maps are much better than the quake 3 maps imo. Its worth it for inspiration alone 10 bucks is nothing for the countless 3rd party maps just waiting to spring some inspiration and life into your mapping mojo. ok, i'm seriously done now lol.

hmm, I thought you were going to go with something new after that map. In fact I think the one you just finished is better right off the bat looking at the layout. : / dont mean to be negative but thats just my opinion

Yep it's a true Arena map with 4 levels as well and it is not going to appeal to some but hey! it's an absolute ball to play with plenty of z-axis and a little twist so be the judge when I release it. ;) Almost finished!
EDIT: Actually I am quite fond of mixing it up and well this is new.

:D CryptOfGaros:I forgot to tell everyone that you can try and get the redeemer by lft jumping off the elevator near the minigun into a small indent in the wall at the top of the lift shaft.
