Hello mappers and gamers,

here is my 2nd map for UT2003 (after DM-LKS_TrainingGrounds). It was made for a 1on1 map contest at the clan, which unfortunately never came to an end (i. e. no winner was selected), but the map did!

It is what I would call a classic 1 on 1 map. I am still kind of stuck in the times of UT1 as far as map-making is concerned, so you will find very few static meshes in the map (just 1 actually) and the looks could have probably been achieved with UT1 too.

Nonetheless, I find it plays well and it's fairly small. Also, it contains a piece of music I wrote myself a few years ago. The music underlines the tension felt in a good 1 on 1 match, so turn up the volume!

Unfortunately bots normally can't lift jump, so they will never get the 100a, and they also don't navigate freely in mid-air, so they won't go to the 2nd level with the center jump pad. So if you want to rule a godlike bot, here is your opportunity ;)

Otherwise, please enjoy this map and have fun!

eeeh ouch. I really dont like the way this map works honestly. espeacially the way the weapons are laid out. this is one of those ring maps kind of like buzz's tut on those training vtm's just without the water and without the glass and without the static meshes and the stipe thing like viridiandreams2k3. I highly suggest you try making an abstract dm map, avoid symetry ok? try it out you'll be suprised at how liberating it is and just downright sexy. I espeacially dont like the way the shield was placed, it encourages camping espeacially if you have the lg the flak and the rocket launcher from one trip around the ring you can just sit up there and send all sorts of ammo down whatever chute your enemy decides to pop up in.

Hey CTFX1,

thank you for your feedback. Though I don't agree with all of it esp. your ideas about non-symmetrical maps was an eye-opener. I'll keep it in mind for my next map!

All you others: gimme some feedback!

Cheers,

XOR
