very beautiful work... just some little critics -

- the arc on the first shot looks a bit overstreched, I'd make it round on the top

- some textures of the static meshes (especially the grey ones) look very unlit

- I'd change the architecture of the walls of this building in the middle - it destroys the very bumpy look of the structure because its cut very rude ( you can see on the 1st and the last 2shots)

but really very nice work

Weird name, nice use & mix of statics & textures. Nice use of lighting as well:up:

i got a few comments for each shot as well

1st shot = Looks really nice but, the archway looks too stretched.

2nd shot= Nice use of terrain, but where the archway is maybe you should do something with the ceiling as it looks a bit falt in that small area and lifeless.

3rd shot = Looks great:up: But the light closest, the corona for it more looks like a electric light than a natural light if you catch what i mean.

4th shot = Nice use of skull trim

Sure this map uses some of the same textures and meshes as Curse3, but it doesn't look to me like it'll play anywhere near as well as Curse3... I'm one of those oddballs who actually likes Curse3. :p

well the reason I dont like curse three is its so cluttered, its hard to move around freely and solidly. trick jumps are a mess to do and just overall its clumsy fighting.

I hated Curse3 for the same reasons at first, but I got used to it and eventually got to like it. It's one of the few maps that punishes random jump and spam style players.

Mind you, I do prefer the LE version with most of the obstructive clutter removed. :)

The ceiling in pic 2 (and pic 4 too to a lesser extent) look awful bare I reckon. Spruce em up a bit. The texture you used is quite bare, and so attracts attention to the lack of fixtures on the ceilings..

I like the last two shot's variation in height, good to see.

Looking cool :)

Hyd,

It looks like you're using zoneinfo ambient lighting (yes?)

Lower the value a little bit if you actually need it (looks like it might be at 12 or higher)... I'm guessing like a mofo.

lower it to around 6 or something low if you actually need it, then try and compensate for darkness with regular lights, dim brightness, little bit of tint, mess with the radius...

Then again, I could be looking at those shots wrong, you might not be using zoneinfo ambient at all, but it looks that way due to the washout.

Nice but there are some buts:

- Lightning needs more contrast and it's a bit washed out.
- Some of the meshes don't really fit in (stairs and pipes).

Hyd, sorry for the little OT... There's a possibility to see a revision of DeathTrance? Yes, I know, I'm a pain in the ass, but I'm so in love with this map and it can be a real winner imo (I promise... I will not annoy you for this anymore :) )

EDIT: btw, very nice the video idea! The flow seems very good. Any chance of a beta before the release?

HI hyd! I think you should make a lightind similar to dm-hygog, that would fit the theme much more than the way it is now. And pentagrams are silly IMO. Overusing them leads to a -yet another satanic fan custom map-. Like dm-anarchy][.

Sorry, but this map is WAAAAY too dark, I don't see a thing. I dunno why, but the preview screens are much brighter. So visuals are 3/10, gameplay x/10 - can't even play it, the only thing I see are some red torches, and long stairs, I keep falling off and this got me angry after a while... The open-air parts are a bit better. From the beta-screens I hoped it'll turn out as that gothic map from _unreal_ (dm-ancestral or sg.), but doesn't even come close. Too bad. :(

Yeah too dark for my taste, in the preview looks more brighter, anyway, other thing, all the map runs great, but when i look the skyboy my FPS drops from 60 to 15, WTF?? :bulb:

Great map. But lighting needs to be a tad brighter and the ambient sounds are WAAAAAAAAY LOUD!
