In one of the videos i seen it shows a locust jump of a car about ten ft in the air firing his weopn but this was single player. Was it just for cinematic purpose or do the locust really have this abiltiy in mp and sp

Definately just for cinematic, since there is no ability to jump (aside from the dodge-roll) that we know of. Jumping will make the game more run-and-gun, since most people in run-and-gun games just jump around firing like lunatics.

I think they everyone else has answered this well but it was in fact just cinematic, but the locust dont need to jump crazy to get the job done! :)

the locusts can jump 600 feet in the air but since therees no jump button you cant actually make them do it

Maybe they just enjoy and/or appreciate the fact that the people they look up to actually take the time to drop what they're doing and let them know that their opinions aren't falling on deaf ears.

It could be when you leave cover, when you jump over it. I'm not sure if you can fire while doing that though.

Jumping would definitely ruin things for a strategic game that invovles so much cover. I just hope that on MP, the Locusts and the Gears will be about the same size, same speed, and same movement.

they are the exact same, just with a different skin.

Byraid(sp), the white guy with goggles, has different boots to everyone else, they look smaller, so he might be lighter.

i dont think that the players height, weight, .... will vairy in the multiplayer, everyone is the same basic character just with a different skin and suit.....

btw i think it is Barid

well i doubt it b/c then everyone one would want be Barid(regardless if the "speed" of the character gives u less armor or something) and that can't happen since in each match ur can only be the 4 main characters or the 4 locusts, u i dont think u get to choose who u want be, well at least in the e3 mp game type we saw, im still hopeing for a game type with regular spawing where u can choose/customize ur character!

Maybe those who ran quicker had less health, or maybe they could carry less ammo. Just a little diversity that added strategy to which avatar you pick

In the one and only screen of GUS THE BUS, he has a large pack on his waste, maybe he carries more ammo and is slower

^^^the whole lighter armor/health = speed is true then it would be fair for the ppl who want to be Gus or Barid, b/c in the game type we saw at e3 u can only be the 4 main characters (or the 4 locusts) and i dont think u get to choose, but hopefully EPIC has other game types with regular respawns and then that idea would be cool, especially if u could create ur own character for MP, like u can start off with Barid, marcus... and then add armor, bags, boots....that make u faster, slower, stronger, give u the ability to carry more ammo, hold more or less weapons...........just a thought

Giving player the ability to upgrade/down grade abilities makes the came basically the same as UT or an RPG.
I presume if the character have different stat that is only for SP, because you cant play as Gus or Barid. In MP they will most likely have the same attributes.

thats what i was saying earlier and thats most likely going to happen, but my other post was just a thought about what other ppl where thinking about, and there would be no point to have different stats in SP, b/c its just u and dom, i am almost sure that all the characters have the same abilites in MP and SP(taking in to account the in SP your characters are stronger than the AI locusts)

But for realism in SP it would be good. To see Gus lagging behind or watching Barid run ahead and scout the situation.

that would be kinda cool, but it doesnt really matter to me, and it would interfear with the commands that marcus gives, b/c if he says regroup and barid gets there early then it would be hassle to have to wait for gus, but whatever EPIC decides it will porbably work great

A time frame that doesn't really interfere but is noticeable

i doubt they will have that stuff though, o well i guess we will just have to wait to see the complete list of features and goodies for this game!

i know im just saying when EPIC finally releases every last detail of the game, it will be amazing to see every lil feature that puts the game over the top!
like the lil things for example he "point of interest" feature and how cool it is!

The points of interest does seem kind of intresting. Seems like it might lead you in the right direction.

Now i dont know if anybody knows this, but is the part in the Sp demo when Marcus sees the King Raven blowing up the watch tower scripted or brought up by the point of intrest button(meaning the way Marcus looked at the whole scene)

Stuff like that is always scripted, and plus I don't think thats how point of interest works, anyone do know for sure?

well all i know is when something "intersesting happens" and eye icon will come up telling u to press Y (optional) and then u marcus will look in that direction, wonder if dom can do it in co-op?

Thanks, i thought i heard that in the demo but was not sure. At least that cleares it up. Pretty cool that they can do that without it being a pre-scripted video.

So jumping would turn it into a more run and gun game, because you can try and hide behind walls, but still, a guy comes past you jumps around, turns on you and blasts you with a rocket before you even have time to get off the wall. Pretty lame

if thats ur feeling u have nothing to worry about b/c you Can't jump in GoW! but u can Jump for GoW like i do:D

HAH! Ben you finally listened to me and got on these boards! I like being able to talk about Gears all day every day. But yeah I think the system EPIC is going with is perfect for this type of game. Context sensetive mantleing is perfect for both the look and the gameplay.
