After reading that discussion in another thread, i decided its time to have a democratic vote on the issue.
The question at hand:
Do You want More GIB?
Well, Do you?
Sue me if this has been done before.

Well, the ability to gib would be great, but I don't want my PC to slow down.
Option #3.

Your PC can take it. Just load up UT if you don't believe me. #1 definately. Or better yet give us an option.

#3... but I'd like it when the bodies just disappeared instead of de-ressing. (either fade out or disappear in a silent puff of smoke)
They should disappear quicker when you can't see them.

Why isn't there an entire gibfree option?

How about having little fairies with harps fly out of the body into the sky when we die. They can even play a little music and make a tweety bird sound.

Give us a choice.
Gib physics are client side, right?
So why does it matter?

Sorry, I just had to post it :D
I voted for #3 because I like gibbing corpses, but I also like the de-resing effect. However, there are problems getting it to work because Karma is simulated client-side, whereas damage is done server-side, so unless the ragdolls are synchronized somehow, many weapons won't have an effect.

So if you don't care would you be content with fairies playing harps?

I always disable gibs in both UT & UT2k3 .. don't want flying gibs distract me from my game

What Boksha/ThePerfectCore said. Seeing as it's client side, make people able to choose. But make one of the choises like #3, but without the de-res (like in UT).

I don't believe you. :)
Load UT?
You're talking about the original, I assume, so what exactly would that prove?
Dead bodies work completely different in that game.

Be sure to wright "GIBS" not "GIB".....:haha: ;) :p
We defenatly need to be able to GIB dead bodies.......and the anus needs to be destructable also:D  i for one will not hesitate to waist some flack or a rocket to pumel a corpse to mush............
More GIBS is a must
On a similar note.......the Matrix effect is much more hard core than our curent green ghost..I say this needs to be improve..also:up:
Look at what ime talking about here-> http://www.intothematrix.com/rl_cmp/anime_frames_program.html

They can make them work the same once they are laying on the ground.

In fact, they did that in Unreal 2, and it worked great.
BTW, Mr.Evil, bodies are done clientside, yet it's possible to hit the bodies with rockets, since the new delayedexplosion function has a serverside and a clientside effect. They could do the same with tracer weapons, right? Voila, clientside gibbable corpses.
Tho it would be cooler if bodies were slightly synced.

Oh, that's what you meant.
Yes, that would be very possible, non-karma bodies, especially after hearing Boksha tell about Unreal II.
(I have only had the chance to play it for too short a time.)
I wonder if stiff bodies wouldn't look weird falling down the stairs or something if you hit them without gibbing them completely...
You were talking about #1 though, which included the word karma, and that would definately be too hard on our poor PCs.
So, maybe the U2 way would be nice.

Mr.Evil where can I get a mod that does that for me. That gib looked great.
Gibbing is fun, but now I don't do it to corpses because there is no fake death. Better to put your ammunition into so guy thats alive than dead IMO.

Hope there won't be more as my comp wouldn't handle that :D Use low gore level just to save a few vital fps...
