REQUESTS for UT2004 Voice stuff:

A couple things that would really like to be tweaked / fixed / included for Voice in UT2004

You guys have done a bunch getting this closer to real working shape and we love you :)

Requests that would really help UT2004 voice:

1: Text messages. Please allow a user selectable text message display for all text messages. Because whats the point of making a good alien voice pack if we can’t write out the taunts and text messages for users to see? (it also helps a lot for the many custom packs that people make using unoriginal (tv, movies) content, so they can spell out what the commands are.
So please let all text messages be displayed as an option. Allow a toggle to turn them on/off from the speech menu. Even set the default to off if you think its better that way.

2: Thank you for adding the voice selection option in the player select menu. Please make sure that any voicepack the user installs is selectable from this menu (custom or stock voices).

3. Please make sure character specific sounds are the correct sex. EX: If playing a female custom model, default the pain, jump, death, etc. sounds to a female default, not gorge.

Hopefully these are done or can be for the ut2004 release. Theres a few more things I wanted to add to but I gotta go!

If anyone else has voice sound requests please add them and ill update mine later too…

Did you notice the green spirits when you played it? Or are they gone now?

(A) Move the pain/death-sounds (the grunts etc.) into the .upl-records like the ragdoll & skeleton.
It would make it easier to create new characters with their own pain-sounds, because a new 'species'-class would not be needed anymore for such minor changes.

It'd be great for making robotic/android skins for the non-robot-models for example ...
Or you could hear UnrealGrrl grunt instead of any of the default female voices.

// -- edit --
(B) And could we get the 'official' list for the new announcer-voicemessages ?
The sooner any custom announcer can be updated to "UT'04"-standard the better ...

And speaking of announcers :
(C) paired announcers ?
Can we get an option to have two separate announcers ?
(one for the 'score' messages and one for the 'multikills' and similar items would be perfect)

(D) Could the voice-selection also be added for the bots as well ?
(and could we have a skin/face selection with that too ?)

These are great suggestions.

Just like a map, model or skin, you should only have to run a Umod or copy files into their proper directory in order to use a custom voice pack (announcer and player voice alike).
Please no more manual .ini tweaking.
