I noticed that it's possible to "detonate" other people's shock cores, which means that its possible to get a "cooperative" kill.
But who gets the frag? The one who fired the shock core or the one who detonated it?

Killing someone with his (or her, some women play ut2003 too:D ) weapon is the best fun ...

I agree, nothing better than fighting a person and fragging when they fire their energy ball. What you bring up about it used in team games via cooperating is a tactic that is seldom used in most normal and clan games. Reasons for this are that you need a good amount of communication and make sure you know the positions of all your team mates. The ball hittiers will run out of ammo very fast too.
For instance on Face III try firing the shock balls at the two routes going around the mid pryamid. Have someone close up there to hit them for you. Hard to work out correctly but a great method of surprising your opponents. Also try in flag games when one of your team mates grabs the flag to shoot the shock balls at him/her from a distance, hopefully the protectors will utilise these in hitting the chasers that will surley follow the flag carrier.
Invasion is a game mode where this is also used, albeit rarely.
Best to spam a choke point full of monsters then have your team mates frag them.
