Map Making for Mac

Is there a map editor available for Macs yet? I used to love making maps for me and my friends to use with Marathon. I would love to make a couple maps for UT. Also, It would be great if there were some kind of Marathon->UT converter as I have several Marathon maps tat would be great for UT. One of my favorites was "Death to The Greedy". It would be great with an instagib mut.

Oh my! A Mac Ut2003 player?? rare find indeed :D Didn't the Mac version come with UnrealEd to make maps??? :bulb:

I knew Iwas going to get at least 1 smart remark about using a Mac. Congratulations you are the first (and not the last I'm sure). They didn't have it in the package. There are edit files etc. but no "engine" to drive them with. I think I also remember reading that they left out the editor in the Mac retail version. This is still a very PC-centric game, though it runs great on a Mac. Mac's have always been good for gaming IMHO. I don't want to debate Mac vs. PC. No one will make any converts and I'm sure everyone is probably sick of that type of thread anyway.
Anyway, UT is a great game. Ever Play marathon? Its another great game, but not as a good as UT (sorry Bungie).

Hmmm you guys should demand UnrealEd from Epic but u're right this' a PC based game. Wait, I have a question, can u use the custom maps that are made for PCs or are u stuck with whatever came with the original game? :confused:

yes, I love Marathon!!! We use MACs at work and whenever our boss went away we played marathon using LAN! I remember there was this one circular map and another circular level on top of it (kinda like a wedding cake) where u could rain rockets on the other people running around :haha:

I can use the custom maps, regardless of the machine they were made on. Some of them are really good. I especially like the "mnis" for DM. The bathroom, livingroom, and office are all well done and quite enjoyable. Fragballstadium is great too for BR. This map has done alot for my dodging skills. My skills have really taken a quantum leap Playing fragball or Hall of Death an hour a night. Then there are some sucky maps out there too.

For marathon, I know which map you are talking about. We used to tweak the physics of the rocket launchers to fire like a machine gun or fire rockets with -1 speed (instant delivery) and large explosion radius. Kinda like a prototype for instagib, but with rockets. Good fun. I loved the screams as the guys exploded.
