Well let me introduce myself. My name is Marc-Etienne Desjardins, and I have been playing game since... Dang The First game I played was a text based Adventure known as ZORK back on my 16MHZ IMB. Now I am 18 and fragging way. I have always worked with PCs, I may still go to High School, but I am a part time Computer tech. I work on other people PC's and even on mine.

Now we all have our UT2K3 Powerhog made PC;s, and mine is a real buity.
http://www.rpgplanet.com/morrowind/ral-jiktar/images/Blew_By_you_GTA.jpg

It's a P4 2.4GHZ, with 1024MB of DDRPc2700 Ram, and a Radeon 9800Pro 128 MB.
The Pc is fully costom built, I upgrade it as peter parts that fit my budget come buy. As for the spare parts, I keep them and upgrade my other PC's. I have my own Hom gaming network, so far only 2 PC are network working, the othe is a 333mhz with no CD-rom drive adn a burned out motherboard, another is casless monster on a tabble with cables, andt he last is a 8MHZPc I got for 10$. ( make a decent night table.) Since I live in the contry, I have no Highspeed internet acces, so it makes my online life a slow a laggy land. It's kinda sad compared to just how good I am.

But with my home network, Friends bring there lap top and plud in on the server and instant team play. I have a few friends and so far only one can really give chalanege. The First has never played a FPS before and does not yet know how to use the mouse for aiming. The score is ually an insane # to some insane negetativ #. another is new to PC gaming, he knows his keys, but has yet to configer a weapon loadout, has no tactics, and is a non moving target. The las t is a hardcore like me, who has been playing FPS since like catacombs 3D, the first FPS from John Carmack. (Owner of ID software, made Quake Doom, sand such.) He has tactics, is a good moving target, and a goodaim, just a bit of slow reflexes. He is mostly playing at Adept to masterful, wile ther others have trouble at novice. I myself vary,in maps like Curse3 and Ice tomb I have trouble beating it at Adept but games like Flux 2 I usually go at Masterful or Inhuman. On a 1on1 game I can bearly beast the Bots. Usually they have 1 or 2 frag diferences. Out of 4 tries I got it once.

So what else is great about me. Well I am a freelance webmaster for Gamespy. Yep but it ain't hard core frag haolic blood bath. It's a simple yet complexe agme known as Morrowind. Heard of it, it's an RPG mainl a big one, taking about 500hours to complete the main quest, then you still have 350+ side quests. Interested, here is a link to my site. www.rpgplanet.com/morrowind/ral-jiktar don't think of seein everything in one night, the site is over 600MB large, and over a gig with the files I have n Fileplanet.

I am a quite cultural persion, I love my Opera, classical music, and taking care of cute cuddily pets. I am a joyful excided persion with a love for poetry and stories. I don't sound like a guy who loves his hot lead on a plate. Maybe silverware with that.

But I am a gamer no the less, For a uy who spends over 15,000$ a year just to feul a love for gamng and get's all the collector's ditions even if he loaths the game. Or goes around town looking for Warcraft Action Figures. Ya I think I have an adiction, I bearly shave no time mus tfrag, no time must fead, no time the Guinea pig needs his carrots, no time the Lizards need help thermoregulation....

Well I guess I bored you guys enough, and I can't say I am very active in forums, I have some other Forum I moderate, so I am quite busy. But Beleive me I will post here, since for game I play till like 4AM I t deserves a bit of thread making.

Well I leave you with an other Poem.

Like Leaves in autom.
Like rain from the sky.
Like a head shot by me.
They all happen one afte another. with no stop.

im not even gonna say anything about your post besides a :bulb:

but about your comp, i dont know what a powerhog made pc is, but i would paint the fronts of your drives to match the case better, including the audigy box. I would also get some better cable managment in your box

is that a p4b or c, and what mobo?

I know I don't have a picture of it fully wired. But I do have a turotial on how to. I actually did not wire it nicly after I got my Radeon 9800, I waited to have time to do a following tutorial.

You can read it here.
http://www.rpgplanet.com/morrowind/ral-jiktar/computer_wirring.htm

here is a nice lil picture of the cleaner inside.
Before

http://www.rpgplanet.com/morrowind/ral-jiktar/images/Emerald/wire1.jpg

after
http://www.rpgplanet.com/morrowind/ral-jiktar/images/Emerald/wiredone.jpg

(Oh an by the wat, the white rip ties are just there so there easier to see. They where later replaced by black.

I also show you how to make your own round IDE cables. It's quit easy.

As for the bays, there actually the same colour as the plastic cover. It's just the cover is made of blue acrylic, which with a flash camera does a blue like effect. But I am thinking of paiting it silver blue once I upgrade to a single DVD-RW.

The Computer is costom built by me like I said. My friends call it a powerhog cause of the 500watt powersupply. It used to be 300watt but then with the Radeon I needed more juice So I deceided to go all the way.

And powerhog made PC is mainly you build a PC for one game in specific, so you check the standard components, I based i on Morrowind which is a game that has trouble running at 15FPS.

And if you play UT at lans, I am sure you have a massive home built PCs with more neons than ram.

It uses a P4PE motherboard, and if you want stats go to this page, it covers all my gaming pc's
http://www.rpgplanet.com/morrowind/ral-jiktar/blew_by_you.htm

By the way, I have an orange UT booklet. He, the joy of pre-ordering. Anyhow, I have been playing a lon time, so you can guess for a guy who's been playin PC's game even before Colour monitors are out i have a bit of experience.

http;//www.rpgplanet.com/morrowind/ral-jiktar/images/UT2K3/good1.JPG
Now none of these games are cheated, andwith a 14.4KBS connection available in the country I can bearly play online. Thi picture above was My third attept at Inhumman at training day, it's my best score on it. I have others, but tehy thend to be 40 to 30 and higher.

http://www.rpgplanet.com/morrowind/ral-jiktar/images/UT2K3/good2.JPG
I beat the PC at good like but once. and this was it, I was over joyed when I did, but 1vs 1 is bearly the best I can do, I get worst as I add more bots.

http://www.rpgplanet.com/morrowind/ral-jiktar/images/UT2K3/good3.JPG
Masterful+1vs1= floorwipping. Like i say, I am good at 1vs 1 atdificulties over Adpet adn on some maps. Wile I suck on others.

http://www.rpgplanet.com/morrowind/ral-jiktar/images/UT2K3/good4.JPG
This time it was a ful game, lots of bots. I still did good. then again this is some of my best. I can beat the bosts at master ful on, Flux2, Hotlead, and few others. But I litteraly am terrible on Curse 3 and Icetomb.

http://www.rpgplanet.com/morrowind/ral-jiktar/images/UT2K3/good5.JPG
My firstnetwork game at home. My riend, Hugo as you guessed is quite ne at computers,he started to play his first FPS in 2003. The bots where at experienced, and literaly it was laughable of a game. I hope whne I get braodband the internet has more and better foes. by the way, this screan was taken from my other PC.

What I really want is to meat people than canchew me up and spti you out. Since the only way to be better is by seeing the better.

use the img tags. Btw i hope you realize that 14.4 kbps is not a standard that relates to your physical location and available connections where you live, but just on your hardware. You could easily get a 56k modem :bulb: :weird:

do you have a p4b (133 mhz clock) or a c (200mhz)?
also are those 2 hdds running raid 0?

legacy-Ral-Jiktar 1

My modem is a 56.6KBS but because I live in the contry it is almost 20 minutes from the closset town, and some 40 minutes to the closest internet server. Since the only High speed I can et is two way satalite which costs 350$/a month for 36.6KBs and 600$/a month for 56.6KBS. I can't even get the dish which is some 12,000$ itself and installation is over 5000$. We can only have enterprise High speed acces, and since satalites are limited it costs a fortune. Since we live to far from places Like Roger amin internet hub, there cables cannot reach that far. We don't even have acces to WiFi singal waves. Hell we got citywater some 3 years ago. and have no digital cable TV. I live in a small town adn th farther yu are from the city, the more High speed costs and the slower it is.

I have a 200MHz clocked CPU, and no those are two IDE Hard drives. They are using extra small IDE cables. there expensive but are smaller than normal cables, but there still large.

I have yet to get a Sata Hardrive. Maily cause they have little room. The largest has but 36.6 gigs. Still it's about 120% faster than a 60gig ATA 133. Both Hard drives are 60gig's ATA133.

Trouble is the Case is small. So it can be hard to do a perfect wirring job. Wile an other one is a LArger server case that is 22pounds. Mainly it's a case for a water cooled double server. It can take two powersupplies, 5 CD-rom bays, up to 18 Hardrives. Up to 2 PUs (AMD motherboards can have two CPUS on on board.) but the case has little or no fans. Up to 3 case fans. And is soo big it has extended side legs to avoid falling over. It's a pain to move, when it's over 35 pounds full. So I kinda hate it.

If I do upgrade this case, it will be the front pannel, you can get Water neon tubes, remeber juke boxes with a coloured water and bubbles going around it. Well you can get that. It's really a nice modding case, built for P4, but it's still a tad small. People want me to water cool it. I say no to over clocking and water. To many times haveI heard of water leaking and CPU's burning up.

Never follow those behin you.
Avoid those infront of you.
Look at those to far ahead of you.
Only then can you predict.

what makes you think that?
the wd raptor is not the largest sata hd, just the only ata hd that runs at 10000 rpms. the next fastest ones run at 7200 or 5400

Well, ya, i know there fast, but there price has yet to justify for it's slight speen incress. My MOBO can take upt to 2 SATA drives, and more with a PCI card.

Right now I just dug out my Voodoo 3 and plugged in tweo monitors.
http://www.rpgplanet.com/morrowind/ral-jiktar/images/doubledamage.jpg

It's amazing t have two screens, I myself found no use for this, but after but two hours of watching a movie and posting Forum replies, and browsing the web. Now my desk top is 2560x1024 resolution.

Now can you make UT2K3 use two monitors. I did it in Nascar 2000, where the Monitor 1 was the main and monitor 2 was the passangers view. It's really sweet to do this, and I can really give an unfair advantage in UT seing two screen.

Also, sine the Voodoo is capable of Running a Desktop, wile the ATI runs the game. So i can have one walktrue of the maps on one side, maybe even notes or quick refereces, wile playing on the other. It has endless possibilites, jsut one 19" and one 17" does take LOTS of Room.

I tried using my two LCDs in the beginning, it doesn't work. Just go use two PCs (haha). But then that'll be lame a** cheating!!! So, don't even try it...

And dude, use IMG tags!!!!!!!

**I hope I don't sound too harsh, I'm a really nice guy :p

maybe with comps but not with any sort of spelling or grammer:rolleyes:

I would also like to say how strange your replies to my questions have been. I ask if you are running a raid array and you tell me how you are not gonna use watercooling because it will burn up your proc. :weird: Then i ask you why you think the wd raptor is the biggest sata hdd and you tell me that you know its fast :bulb:
I am just asking some simple questions, i hope you can give a intelligible answer...

So far, this is my favorite post... This dude cannot answer a question clearly (and concisely :)). Reminds me of my last roommate.

Hey, Ral-Jiktar 1, use [img] tags. They're fun.

Well I know my spelling sucks bad, then again english isn't even my first languge.

What the hell is this IMG tag, I do use the freaking IMG button if that's what you mean.

But don't worry I am a quite strange guy, everybody tells me that, must be the way I talk.

And yesa I know the SATA HD's capabilityies, bu for there price thre quite expensive, and the larger you go, the slwer they et till they arrive at a point IDE is the same speed. Around about 200gig+ I will certainly wait a wile before the 60 or 80 Gig's get to 10,000 RPM.

Anyhow don't mind me, I just say strange things and I view points diferently.

And if you ask, my Primary language is Frence, an it's alanguge with a really screwed up Gramar. Belive me.
