I have been playing on two servers that use around 90 custom maps each and have downloaded many of them. I want to use those maps offline in a LAN game with some friends but they arent listed as choices in my map selection. I also cant find them anywhere on my computer. I ran a search for .ut2 files and looked manually for them.

When I download maps from a server where are the files placed?

They are stored in UT2K3's Cache. (Not sure where it is for WIndows, as I run Linux). But you can check the net for a UT2k3 Cache Manager Utility, which will allow you to transfer your map files to the map directory. Just do a Google for 'UT2k3 Cache Manager Utility'
