View Full Version : Fluid surface changed into a sheet of glass

I've had a fluid surface, in one of my current projects that has worked fine, up until now.

It was cut and pasted from IronDeity, and I changed some of the proprties.

It worked well for months.....movement, etc. Now it looks like a sheet of glass, in both the game and editor.

I can't think of any major things i've done to cause this.

Any ideas? Sorry I can't post a pic, as i'm securing web space soon.

Thanks!

I had a problem like that once: The fluid surface info suddenly stopped moving and became perfectly flat, both in the editor and in-game. It did it several times in fact. Possible ways to fix it: Cut it and then paste it back in; Fiddle with the fluid properties.

Turn up your in-game physics setting to High
Rebuild All

check under fluid surface info properties, and make sure that the fluid noise is at least 50, anything lower and it doesnt seem to make waves ;)

I have it in a map which - I was about to say which I'm working on, but i haven't touched it for ages. Anyway, even replacing the FluidSurfaceInfo didn't fix the problem in my case. Fluidsurfaces on other maps are working fine, and I was definitely on all highest settings last time I rebuilt, so I have no idea what's killed it.

perhaps an error in the map file itself. select all actors and copy/paste them into a new map file, then rebuild. that may solve the problem. it fixes weird things, like when the map suddenly wont play, and says there is no player start even when i have 14, and have rebuilt several times. so maybe its something to try.

Nothing worked........SO, I did a full UT2K3 uninstall/reinstall.

That actually fixed it.:bulb:

Thanks again....to everyone.
