no, i am not kidding u, if you need a good GFXcard, take a 9700 of 9700 pro, you can hold it 2 a 3 years, then you need to buy another
if you now take a gforce 3 ti 500 or a gforce 4 ti 4200, you can buy another one over 1 year, it's not good enough for that games that are out then: halflife 2, doom 3, :Dut2k4:D etc......
suc6 with your choice :D

I thought he meant which one of the above had wich advantages and disadvantages....
and well.. if you think you can keep a videocard for 3 years... You will not be able to play the best games all the time... a cpu will work 3 years but a graficcard only 1 and 2 if you buy the best model which you cannot afford and which costs more than to buy two times a price-performance-ratio model...

wait til october and the prices will drop due to christmas overload.
and then buy a 140$ Radeon 9500pro [not 9600] or a Geforce FX [the cheap series]. don't buy a 500$ card as they said above. there's plenty of new technology coming out now and you'd buy a "500$ old card"...

I have both a 9700 AIW Pro and a gf4400. Both work great, but the gf4400 was definately a lot cheaper.
