Hi,
When installing UT2003 retail, I get "Critical Error" messages saying that it cannot locate "this" file randomly through the installation. I have to restart the installation and it usually worked. I managed to install it successfully but I was just wondering if anyone else had this problem and could tell me what it is??

Thanks :D

it's a securom issue due to the copy protection of the game.... t occurs with some Cd-Devices (Especially with RWs..) and some mainboards in XP... be happy that you managed to install it....

I've been trying to install all evening. I always got the error on the same file, though. I returned the game and got a different copy, and had the same problem only with a different file. I tried to install each copy on two different computers (a W2K XP2000+ with an onboard GeForce 4, and a 98SE AMD 1.2 GeForce 2), no luck. Is their hope for me?

well first try if it is possible to copy the "corrupt" file from the cd to the hd... if this works you might have good chances...

well now try copying any file but that one.... if there is no other corrupt file you might have the chance to get that one from a freind or sent by mail or something if it is not too big....
Anyway.. if there are several corrupt files, you really have a problem...
