Hi all,
I have 4 computers on my (cable speed) home network.
It's pretty simple.
The first PC has 2 NIC cards and gets the internet first, then via a lil 4 port Netgear hub and XP's ICS that first PC hands out internet to the 3 other PC's
All 4 PC's run XP so it was easy to set up ICS BUT the problem I'm having is I can't host a dedicated 2K3 server on my pc (My PC is on the network with a 192.168.0.241 IP) The dedicated 2K3 server will show up in the LAN tab and I can connect to it that way, but no one outside my home network can connect to it. My ping shows up as N/A on the CTF tab.
Now I've went to the main PC getting internet and running ISC and opened and directed the following TCP ports to my PC's internal 192.168.0.241 IP address:
7777
7778
7779
8777
9777
8080
27900

No UDP ports have I set.

And STILL it dosen't work :(

Has anyone out there got a dedicated server to run on an ICS run home network setup?

Do I not have the right ports open and directed?

Side note:
I also can't play Age Of Empires II on "The Zone" AT ALL!!!
Connecting to a game or hosting one doesn't work. Any help with this game would also be appreciated. I know this isn't a forum for AOE but I can' seem to find a big AOE forum anywhere.. Anybody know of one?

hmm..... u managed to get me all excited but alas... it didnt work:weird:
I found and changed the ServerBehindNAT setting to "True" (It was in the ut2003.ini file) Then added and directed ports 7788 - 7777 and 28902 - 28900 (TCP and UDP cuz i didnt know what ones were needed) to my PC's IP. Still my ping is N/A on the CTF tab...

Do I have to set a port direct for EACH port? Can't I use a range like I did with AOE?

Ok let me back up just to explain...

How I'm directing a port here is by right clicking on the "My Network Places" icon on my desktop, (On my computer) selecting Properties. Right click select properties again this time on the Internet Gateway NIC (<-- the NIC sharing internet on the PC getting net 1st) Then clicking "Setting" @ the bottom right to get to the list of "Services" (<--I.E. ports) And finally adding a new 'Service'.. Putting my PC's IP in, 7788 for external port and 7777 for internal. I did this for TCP and UDP both like I said above. Then another add, this time port 28902 external and 28900 internal, again for TCP and UDP both...

What'd I do wrong?

You don't need to allow incoming connections to 28900 or 28902. They are for outgoing connections (not blocked by ICF).

You probably should specify port in increasing order though, i.e. 7777-7788 instead of 7788-7777 (only 7777-7778 and 7787-7788 is needed for a default server config).

I'm not sure you're doing anything wrong. Have you tried to get someone to connect to your server (from ASE or GS)? There is a bug in the built-in browser that breaks with most NAT-implementations (see this thread (http://www.ina-community.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=234947) for more info) that makes the server appear as N/A and will hang any connection attempt.
