hi, i just started to learn how to map. No i was just building a small room just to try out how much i alreadt knew. I build a small hallway with some lights in it. Now every thing was fine until some point. I pressed Build all and the hallways looks now like this:

Does somebody know what i can do about it ?

it happens. what video card are you on?
also, make sure your bsp is on a high grid spacing, like 16, and that its ON the grid, and the vertices are snapped. if its just that cube, its probably a video error (if you have a ati radeon 7200, for isntance) or a bsp hole that just happened to creep up on you.
sometimes moving the brush a bit in any direction will fix it.

I have a Radeon 9700 CATALYST 3.5. My grid is on 16 and it is on the grid. I have the toggle vertex snap botton "on" and i don't know what a BSP hole is, but i find it strange that ot happens on more then one hallway just out of the blue because it was all fine. It just happend. And this black stuff show in-game to, so it really sucks.
Thanks for the help.

yeah, they do "just happen." serioulsy, lol. happened in my map for months. it went away on its own. you can try moving the brush, rebuild all. it will eventually fix itself, for whatever reason. especially as you add bsp detail in that room/hall, it will change the surfaces, and maybe fix the problem.
iwish i could help more, lol. i have no 100% solution. advice: weird bugs have weird solutions. try random things, maybe youll get lucky.

I had this on a wall in my map. Actually I still have it...
But I know how to get rif of it (tested and works fine):
For me that happened in quite a small room. I added a sheet 1 unit away from the wall. It has the height and width of the wall. And it was lit... :p
Try it...

Grab the light jiggle it like your wringing its neck and the rebuild with the light ever so slightly higher or lower from where it was.

Make sure that surface isn't special lit.

Wait, several guys just said that it would. Why wouldn't we believe you? ;)
If this ever happens to a final build of the map and you're not planning on changing anything after it, you could shift the rebuild settings around by very small values. It probably won't screw up your PC (I can't guarantee that BTW, any damage is your own risk :p) and will probably fix it.
