Do you have any other programs running?
Sometimes a complete reload of your OS will
fix problems like this.

with the demo it says that he had a fault in the demo but it worked before
and with the full version it says that it cant make some map (example orbital) because it already exist
than it stops installing
(the flaw is in the 1 cd)
i check everything even teh regsiter (not software) and i can find anything back from the game

its like here but it didn't work 4 times 1 time I deleted the folder after a wrong installation
Whenever I try to install it goes ok for a while and then I get a criticle error. It has to do with some texture thing and it says to clean the cd, etc.. and I do but it keeps coming back. the file that it stops on is always different. Also there is a partial UT2003 folder in my c drive but I have never gotten past disk 2. This used to happen but I tried 4 times and it worked but I have since formatted and now it dosent work.
My specs are:
Dx 9A
384 mb ram
2 ghz athlon
ati radeon 7200

ok as far as i understood that thing, it's a problem where something hase a wrong file size...
you didn't get errors during install?
with the ut1 engine the error occured with ram problems, with old directx and graficcard drivers, but I found nothing reported about that with new unreal engine games, so I might not solve anything... anyway.. how new are your dx and graficcarddrivrs and is there a special patch you use or something? I do not have this one I think.. is this beta?
legacy-brightwhitestar
06-17-2003, 02:37 PM
no I dont have a beta I think
i have version 2206 (demo)
I used to have problems during installation but I did some drive cleaning
(deleting temps and temps internetfiles)
and for the full version is v2100 (I think)
I have a 512Mb ram
and I think the patch of VIA is installed but I'm not shure
(is it that test_driver1?????)
thx fr your replys
legacy-Syberdoor
06-18-2003, 08:22 AM
for the full version there are patches up to 2225 ... sorry didn't think of demo...

I have also problems with warcraft III
I just want to know if that patch for the VIA chipset test_driver1 is or not because I installed test driver1 and it doesn't work.
or is it a other patch???????

i reckon it's your D3D, cos i have the same problem, but i get thru it by using OpenGL instead of D3D. what might reduce your problems is downgrading your drivers to the latest SIGNED drivers for your card if you are not already using them. to change to OpenGL in ut2003, do this:
in the ut2003.ini located in C:/UT2003/SYSTEM , look for the subheading [Engine.Engine] . where it says:
RenderDevice=D3DDrv.D3DRenderDevice
;RenderDevice=Engine.NullRenderDevice
;RenderDevice=OpenGLDrv.OpenGLRenderDevice
remove the semi-colon from the beginning of the last line and add one to the beginning of the first line so it looks like:
;RenderDevice=D3DDrv.D3DRenderDevice
;RenderDevice=Engine.NullRenderDevice
RenderDevice=OpenGLDrv.OpenGLRenderDevice
then save it, and if it doesnt help your problems, then you can always change it back :) . hopes this help ya m8 ;)

I know this sounds very stupid and very simple, but I had very similar problems with the original install, and after I managed to get it to install...try installing from a different CD drive. My install cds just did not agree with my 52x cdrom but as soon as I tried it in my burner, it installed fine and ran fine. May not be it, but it might be worth a try...

Do you have any background tasks running? Some games have serious problems with antivirus programs.
Give your computer the "three-finger-salute" (ctrl-alt-delete) and close everything but Explorer and Systray. Try to run the game again.
It's a long shot, but it might help.

The same exact thing happens to me every time I play 03. Maby a couple min of game play and then crash/reboot. I have all the latest drivers and I have applied the patch.
(it didn't seem like it did anything...Besides rebooting my computer again.)
I have also reloaded XP and the driver for the VidCard and installed the 4in1 driver for my VIA mobo.
What else can I do to get this game to work???
Specs.
WinXP pro, 256mb ram, Ecs: L7VTA Mobo w/ VIA8235 chipset, Radeon 9100 128mb Agp.
I guess I don't know what else to do.
Thanks for any help.
