I play and play and play and sometimes I notice a satellite or something high up in the sky.

What does that thing do?
Is that something to put in my ctf-map?

:) That "satellite" you saw is the ion cannon and part of a superweapon. You'll need the ion painter to "activate" it.

I think nearly everything about this weapon is already described in this thread:

The painter itself DOES not kill anyone, it merely illuminates where the satellite is to fire the cannon.

Understand that you CAN NOT move the beam or yourself while your using it!

To make it work, fire the laser pointer at an area visible to the overhead satellite...HOLD THE FIRE BUTTON DOWN.. You’ll see the beam get brighter; until you hear a faint "ping" then the satellite fires the Ion Cannon.

If you don't see the beam get visibly brighter, the area your trying to "paint" isn't visible to the cannon and you'll have to re-position the beam to a better area.

Aah...a big cannon controlled by the painter-weapon!
That's explains why the players don't be killed when I'm "painting" their ass!

i dont really like the ion painter that much because your such an easy target for the amount of time it takes to fire(which if very long during a game against strong opponents). but if you can get a good shoot of your garunteed at least one kill.
