hey~
I recently purchased UT, but am still waiting for Dell to ship my new computer that i can play it on... but im wondrin, ive been playin counterstrike for... too long.... its quite obvious that strategies are completely in these two games, but im just wondrin if any of my counterstrike skills will help in UT... on counterstrike, im pretty much always on the top of the scoreboard, and am good at aiming, but it seems that UT is more of a fast paced blow the shiznit out the other guy kind of game (which is just what im looking for)... any comments are appreciated.

if you like CS then you'll like the LG (lightning gun) in UT2k3

Your good aim may come in handy with the LG, however u should know that camping with a gun in CS is the way to go while excessive camping is looked down upon in UT2003 by hardcore players. There's nothing wrong with taking a couple heads of with the LG from a distance :haha:  however if u make make a habit of staying in one location and sniping people right and left with LG, sooner or later u will irritate the good players who will quickly locate where u are (since the LG leaves a nice lightning trail) and flak your head off. Remember that this's an arena, so come down and exchange some rocket fire and shock combos with us! :p Happy fragging....

how does recoil work in UT?... like, when im using a deagle in CS, i shoot it, and the aim becomes more widespread... are the same recoil effects found in UT? or it just not noticeable with the fast pace?
*btw, thanks for the fast replys*

Hmmm...Recoil? The only recoil you might notice is from the minigun. That's the only gun I can think of that causes accuracy to flounder a bit as you fire it. You'll notice that when you fire it your screen will shake quite a bit. The rocket launcher recoils, however, when the rocket launcher recoils, you can't fire another rocket until the launcher is back where it was supposed to be. ;) Other than that, I think you're safe from recoil.

yes because of your counterstike skills, you will have an advantage, since basically all first person shooters revolve around being able to quickly mouse aim and fire, but UT2003 is much different. You will have to spend lots of time learning to dodge, jump, and evade people well. And then you will obviously have to learn the maps for UT, since of course CS wont help you at all in that aspect of the game

you should definetly have a small adv advantage over complete beginners and some ut noobs. the only huge diffrences you'll notice is the mutators, and getting used to the weapons. but i found that switching games like that can be sort of hard because u think of the guns your used to. like i used to play cs when i switched i kept killing my self with the redeemer because i didnt know how strong it was, while in cs the strongest is only the sniper rifle.

aye, your aiming will help out quite a bit, although you will need to learn all the fun dodges, wall jumps, lift boosts, ect. in my opinion they are 2 diff games, but learning is half the fun right? :haha: good hunting man
