Alright here's how it gos, I am hopeing someone can help me. I run Windows 2000 Server Edition, I downloaded Unreal Tournament 2003 Dedicated Server, retrieved the CD-Key and tried to run the program. No such luck, I have no clue where to put the CD-Key in or at, nor do I know why there is no .exe only a DOS type console command prompt that comes up with the error. It says I need a CD-Key, I have one from thier site, but don't know where tp put it. Any help will be appreciated, thanks in advance. :bulb:

i had similair issue when i got my key.
open notepad. copy this into the file:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Unreal Technology\Installed Apps\UT2003]
"CDKey"="XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX"
insert the proper CD key you retrieved above and save file as cdkey.reg (not TXT extention). Note the location you saved it to. Browse to that location with Windows explorer and 'double click' on the reg file. it will ask ' do you want to merge....' or something like that.
say yes.
key is now installed.

p.s. its been a while, but win2k may use reg editor version 4. I cant recall. you may have to change that 5 to a 4 to get it to work. I cant recall backward compatability. Sorry

Have you tried double-clicking the CD key registry file????
Also, here's all the tutorials you need to start-up a UT2003 server: http://www.unrealadmin.org/modules.php?name=Sections&op=listarticles&secid=5 (<= just click here).

It goes into the Registry, use regedit.
