I'm from a clan called LKS, Lonely Knights. I'm a member of that group for a few months now. The clan at the moments consists of mostly US players. I'm from Europe myself and would like some people to play with as well :-). To my knowledge they got about 3-4 European members. Some of us, like me play Instagib mostly, I'm trying to learn more about NW myself, but still struggling! Maybe we could learn from each other, my weakness is movement! Anyway, just looking for people with a good attitude, not necesarilly ultragood people, I'm just a normal player myself, nothing special. Just wanted too say u did a great job posting a recruiting thread in here BOB! We had 2 or 3 new members with this one, nice!

As the 'Leader to be' ;-) of the UT/UT2003 devision (Co-leader next too LKS_tRon, Ill be responsable for the Euro-section) of the Lonely Knights I wanted too add that we play mostly for fun, we wanna amuse ourselfs, we do not play competition but we do have interclanmatches from time to time. On a friendly base that is.

I just wanted to make the European part of the group a bit more alive, so I kinda went out there to see.

We all like playing the game, that's what it's about. Being a bit nuts is also a good thing, I know the crazy Italian is :-).

Btw Jar, did you see that post about that gameservers.net server? Public server is more expensive, so if you or anyone else know where to get a public server? Clan-server was 39.95 Euro, the othe was 4-5 times that amount.

Yup I read it... I posted too I think, but I don't wanna go in to that at the moment...
I think it's more difficult to put money into a server now because half of the players will allways have high pings...(US-EURO)

When I joined there were only american an australian guys there lol, we're doin great.

We'll work on the recruitment for american and european players harder in a few months... Don't have much time nowadays, ur doin great, keep up the good work .

I also thought it was well to have the Europeans practise on their own server, just becasue of those pings. My pings is bad on the US server, theirs on ours. It'll always be a hard issue, also because of playing at different times. We'll see indeed, 40 Euro a month for a clan server isn't that bad.

Btw, bingo! We got another new guy coming in!

Ok guys, I'm not sure what is involved in joining a clan. Over the years I've been asked to join several clans but have turned them all down because I'm not sure what all it involves. I've read the COC at Lonely Knights but I am still in the dark. Is there dues? Is there a set time you have to play? Is there online meetings that need to be attended? The reason I turned down the other offers is I don't want to tied down to when I have to play or attend online meetings when my schedule is tied up. How do clans work and what all is involved? This may sound stupid but I really don't know.

Here some answers to your questions, hope I can help.
If u join they expect u to post and play. Not every day or every week but u have to show interest. If u are a member for 1 month and u have 3 posts (in the forums) they will not consider u as a 'member'.
For the rest its all very 'easy', if u have to little time to post or play a few weeks u just post a thread and say that u will be away for a little time but when ur there just visit the forums when u can and give ur opinion about the threads that are there or just have fun playing with us once in a while.
It's not that big deal when ur not allway online, most of the ut2003 branch members are over their 20's, hell, we even have people over their 40's ;) Dad Desmo ;), which means we have familys and a busy life outside LKS.

So just sign up and have look around, u'll see it's a clan that fits u 'like a glove'. :D :up:

How do clans work: we have one Imperator and lots of 'organs' who are busy with welcomming and showing around new people, website developping, every branch has his own leader, people who watch out over the forums...

Ok Jar Jar, this doesn't sound so bad. I do like to play but HATE going up against wise a$$ed ppl who have all these cheats (aimbots etc). It would be nice to just go a have fun fragging. I have one more concern. My preference is deathmatch. I don't much get into the BR or CTF. Will I be forced to broaden my horizons or can I stick with DM?

We hate a$$holes who cheat and can't stand to loose, we play for FUN... and that's a nice attitude, we all like each other, we all have fun toghether :up: ;)

We play all sorts of games online DM, CTF, CTFInsta, BR, BRInsta...

But when we have a practise session we mostly play CTF or BR because its a teamgame...u need to practise tactics and stuff...when we meet other clans its BR, CTF or TDM...

DM don't need no teampractise, u can practise taht on ur own ;)

Like DM once in a while but for the moment its mainly CTF INsta for me... Last month it was BR NW :D U surely don't have to play what u don't like but when u play ctf or br a few times u'll begin 2 like it ;) Worked for me

I think you don't have to worry about that, I know atleast 3 members who play a lot of DM ,but than again you might want to try out ctf instagib (I used to be a only DM guy now I'm hooked on it :) ).
I haven't seen any cheaters for a long time (I believe 1 month a go I saw 1 but I'm not shure cause I really sucked back than).
Anyways hope you'll join the clan and if so I'll see you there :)

I'm really getting interested. I've have several friends who have said how much fun BR is and I guess I could get into the other forms i.e. CTF and TDM. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I am now ready to make the commitment to join. I guess I'll have to change my name as the COC says no offensive names so I guess analannihilator is out not to mention too long a name. Hmmmm what to choose. That will take some thought. Got the key - going to go apply now. Been practicing bombing run with instagib. Man, I THOUGHT I was pretty good. This is a whole new world and a new set of tactics. I really S U C K big time. I think the BIG problem is I don't know the maps as I don't play them or hadn't played them till now. Might take a couple of weeks to get up to speed. Thanks again guys.

Prefer zoominstagib 'cos it makes everyone equal.....no messing with changing weapons. I usually manage to have the assault rifle against someone with the rocket launcher, and I don't usually come out of it too well....:)

Don't worry about how you play. We'll be practising a bit of NW as well against each other. Online I'm bashed easily by those, but I still like to practise. I love the Excessive mod a lot. When I play weapons, I want to see huge explosions and lots of action, which is accomplished this way :-).

Well once UT2K3 was launched we went through a bad patch. At one stage I was talking to myself :haha:

But things have picked up once again and everyone's taking the mick out of me for connecting at 28.8k

Cheesy and many of the old regulars are gone, well not gone. They've moved onto UT2K3 or just don't play it anymore. I'm trying to bring back support for UT1 in the clan.

We're doing quite well. Everything seems to be falling back into place. We have a practice time, which I can make now :D .

If you're interested in playing UT1, just pop in. We have a practice time of 4pm EST every saturday and are starting to create a 1 V 1 ladder, you're welcome to join in, what do say, for old times sake ? ;) (even though I never played you :( )

A guy from Holland and I met online and we just enjoyed fragging/capturing together so we decided to join our own little clan just for fun. Since FST stands for Fairplay, Strategy, Teamwork, our "rules of conduct" kind of coincide with yours.
However, lacking time and commitment, the clan never really got going so with just 2 people it cannot really be called a clan. That is why I got thinking: "Why not join another clan which also shares our values and have more friends to play with?"

From these posts I judge that you guys have similar values like my friend and I do. I will still have to talk to him, but I would like to try out with you. I enjoy fragging with friends.

I play anything as long as it's not Low grav or insta. I enjoy team games most.

I did click the activation link in the confirmation email I got and I am logged in. I assume that Lambik has the same problem (he joined recently too).

I think it's done intentional, if you have activated your account, the welcomming mail sould arive quickly after that (depending on the time difference 48 hours max (that was in My and Bunnettes case anyway). In that mail you get the final details, the who's who etc etc.

Not having received the welcomming doesnt stop you from playing with us ofcourse...and that is the most important part ;)

Keep me informed and if it doesnt arive soon let me know and I'll see what I can dig up for ya.

Yesterday EarlyBath met Hardcase, we played him later along with SnowFox. He was a nice guy actually. It seems there are really people online that are LKS-material .... why do I hardly meet them myself :).

Played another TDM-match earlier with Duck .... there were two guys from another clan .... it was a nice match, they were also quite nice, not arrogant at all.

I myself just mail someone called Fatal1ty_xXx, he was interested some time back, but at that time no one could join the forum due to issues.

Don't worry m8, it's not your fault. New registrations are not being accepted for a few days. Occasionally things need to be sorted out on the forum and when that happens registrations get closed temporarily.

We're hoping that the doors will reopen in the next day or two.

I think we're not going to be using sponsor keys, we weren't for a little while, but then again maybe they'll be back this time.

Well the main reason I dont play is there aren't that many maps I like that came included with the game and It gets boring, but im getting the Epic Bonus Pack, I was meaning to do it anyway. I got a few more maps through ut2k3.net but its kinda hit and miss w/o screenshots. Anyway, ill be playing the game more with more maps.....:D

LOL! You didn't get any other maps? OMG You miss out on a few great ones, the new DM maps are really good, but you should look at the CTF, DDOM and BR maps as well. I like to play the last ones Instagib myself.

Dunno if you're on DLS or dialup .... but of you got a good connection check out some other maps as well for example the ownage maps www.planetunreal.com/cliffyb and I got a nice load of other custom maps myself. If it were for the oficial DM maps (the ones that came with the game, not the BPs), I wouldn't play a lot myself.

The game has improved greatly now.

Well I haven't had Unreal Tournament 2003 very long, only a month or so and I just haven't had a chance to get the bonus pack. I don't really even think I'm good enough to really play online, I've tried and been beaten miserably. I mean, so far I've only played with Experienced bots...

Well I must admit, so am I sometimes. I do ok for an average beginner, but when players get better .... I haven't really got the skills to defend myself. I've played it for some time now, with Instagib I can stand my man really, but with NW .... stuff just goes too fast for me. Since most of the clan peeps now play NW .... I think I might have to look for another game or something else myself, I've had my fun, now it's turning onto frustration, since I can't get any better, I see little to no improvement + my system is also not helping me these days, I guess it might be due to the hot weather, but I've had probs since the day I got it.

Our clan's server is also set to Xloc TDM .... I myself don't really like that setting. Xloc is meant for moving towards the flag, or catching up with the carrier. So some players are too good to beat already, now they're also using this to fly around through maps, making them even unbeatable, at least, for me.

So I guess, it's just not meant for me. I don't blame the game, I'm just not good enough for this. Too bad there aren't any newcomer servers.

It's ok other players are better, I accept that, but when players are really too far higher skilled than others, I think the decency should be to have them compete with players of their own skills other than too humiliate the less skilled, it's far too easy for them. I do prefer to play with people who are just that bit better though, just not at unbeatable level for me, maybe they have fun, but I don't. I just removed the game, I think I might leave it untouched for some time .... again, it's not the game, just me and my frustration. I'd better find a game I'm really good at.

Anyway, never mind this, just give it a shot. Don't go away before trying, I didn't , you shouldn't either.

I haven't played Instagib a lot myself lately, I tried it a few days back, man I suc**d .... now I su** at both :). I did make a few shock combo kills today, finally I actually did that, miracles happen. But some people are really damn tough to beat, not yet beateble for my level. I hope I one day will be able to make it a bit harder for them.

- Frag with friends!
LKS is a clan out there to get gamers together to have fun playing the games they like and respect each other while doing it!

- Frag with lots of friends!
LKS has very large number of members (over 30 in the UT2003 branch alone) so you will never have to frag without one of your LKS buddies! Why don't try and add LKS* to your UT2003 buddies? You will surely find at least one of us online almost any time during the day.

- Frag the forums!
LKS's website is maintained by dedicated tech-freaks and features a busy forum. It is not uncommon for regular members to have 4-8 posts per day! We keep in touch!

Just have a look at our home page, and you'll find info on how to sign up. For peeps that dont wanna join the clan, but just be part of our forums, you can always sign up for a visitor account, untill we have ya convinced we are the crowd to join ;)

On another note, in the near future we will be moving our public server to a new 16 player server. Stay tuned, I will post the new IP adress in these forums

At the time I made this post since the group desperately needed members. A great group of people was created.

Now this group again needs new players. I myself am no longer among them, but to show I have been a true Knight, I want to give something to something that has been dear to me for a long time.

We had an IRC channel, from what I hear it's currently down but, there will be one up very soon.

well number wise the UT1 branch is small, I'd say about 6 but we are going through a slow phase. I've got quite a bit of free time this week so I'm hoping to get things ship shape.
