Sniper?

Im wondering if there will be sniper weapons in the game. And, if so, do they offer any benefit with most of the gameplay being in close quarters.

If you see a demo of X05's demo when they go in the mine tracks... theres sniper, theres a couple parts it looks like your a far distance from the enemy... you can still shoot them with regular weapons but its easier to snipe them ^_^

on the halo one it has 2x and 10-8x (can't remember which)

It has the normal left-trigger 'targetting' zoom, but you can also click the right thumb stick to zoom in closer. Just make sure someone is watching your back, or a chainsaw will be the last thing you hear!

Sweet, a sniper in Gears. I hope the controls are nice and fluid and tight.

It would rock if it had a laser sight :o It has never been done before and it would make sniping a bit harder but it would look so cool. And I hope they do the zooming like in PDZ where the zoom level depends on how much you pull the left trigger, so you can easily zoom out.

I agree with KoKos if their is a laser sight it would not only help the shooter but the future snipi ( is that even a word). And I guess with the smoke grenades the laser sniper would be useless with the smoke blocking the target from being seen. But those are things I like to see but either way I trusts them with this game.

I think if they follow usual guide lines of releasing info about the game/weapons that halo and unreal did, they would do it gradually and maybe monthly. Epic march to the beat of your own drum, I trust you guys with this game.

There's going to be alot of weapons in the game since for almost every weapon, there's also a locust version.

ok, that is a very simple question. yes there is a sniper rifle in the game. it is called the longshot. its very difficult to use at first. you have to practice and get good at using it. its pretty hard to use, you have to be quite skilled to be effective with it. you can magnify the scope once. ok this is a bolt action rifle, you fire one shot at a time. when you hit a perfect active reload it give you the ability to knockdown an enemy with one shot to the upper body. its really effective. people on xbox live will ***** and complain about it but ignore them. its their fault for allowing their enemy to pick up the rifle in the first place. one shot to the head kills no matter how much health your opponent has. so yeah thats pretty much all the basics.
