[Mysterial]

Greed has now gone 2.0!

For more information on this mod you can see the brand new Greed site located here (http://www.error691.com/mysterial/Greed/).

For those who already have it, here's the changes:
-Added: Custom key item support
-Added: "Item Lifetime" option - determines how long in seconds the key item stays before vanishing
-Added: "Use Weight" option - makes each key item carried slow down the player by a percentage specified in the item's .int description.
-Added: Key item .int parameters - bouncyness and movement from taking damage
-Added: New key items - Bouncy Coin, Ring, and Bouncy Ring
-Fixed: Bots no longer say "0 loose coins"
-Fixed: Bots track # of loose coins better when multiple deaths occur very quickly
-Fixed: Bots no longer say "x loose coins in Spectating"

The readme contains instructions on how to work the new custom key item support, as well as better instructions on getting Greed servers working.

I saw one, but it was Lowgravity Instagib at some high gamespeed, IIRC. There's also a couple servers that switch gametypes in their rotation and include Greed, but it's hard to find them since they'd never stay under any one tab.

I know, I was worried about there being lag problems with large numbers of coins so I left it that way. I'll do some tests with various replication states for the coins to see what I can do but I can't guarantee I'll be able to make it any better.

LOL, it would figure AOL would have the only browser on earth that can't at least find a plugin for the flash buttons automatically. *sigh* I'm sorry about that.

it says i have version 130 when i use umod version? even though ut2003 says i have v2166 in online/lan section. the umod doesnt work and it pops up a screen telling me to get update 2166. i had to use the non utmod file.

The whole UT2MOD thing appears to be rather buggy. Some people don't get the files associated right when they install UT2003, some people get strange version errors, some people think it works but nothing gets installed, etc. etc. etc.

All I can say is if you have problems go with the manual install. I don't think there's anything I can do.

I used the ut2mod version and didn't have the file association. I manually created it and it then installed fine. Ut2mod is definitely a bit buggy.

Greed 2.0 has some nice improvements. I'm really enjoying it. Good work, Mysterial. :)

UT2MOD's are associated to /UT2003/System/Setup.exe.

To install a UT2mod file, go into a command prompt, cd your way to the UT2003/System directory and type "setup.exe install <filename.ut2mod>"

eg.


C:\UT2003\System>setup install C:\Windows\Desktop\Greed.ut2mod

You also need v2166 because pre-2166 had major bugs with the UT2MOD code. :weird:

BTW ... this is a kick-ass gametype! I'd like to see more servers with it. :up:

i like this mod.

only one thing. you kann not see how rich the players are. in heads (a mod for teh good old quake) the items stik to the player.
is it possible to place a BIG number over the player to tell the others that its absolut importantant to stop him from reaching the droppoint.


i think this would raise the action again
