It's also in the 2179beta patch, fixes many bugs caused by 2175

the only reason I can come up with for the use of it, is making pics of the bots

Nope. And don't expect it to be released anytime soon. The fact that demo manager, merely because it must use a dll that links to UT2k3's dll's, will be automatically disqualified if I submit it to the MSU (Make something unreal contest) is not encouraging me to start on it anytime soon. If you guys really want it, see if you can get the contest to change the rules so that DLL mods are allowed.
For the record, I never made mods expecting money. It is more of the "concept" that is leading me to protest this:
1) The basis for prohibiting mods that link to unreal's dll's is that the "general public" doesn't have access to the ut2003 headers. True, but the "general public" doesn't have access to a $2000 modeling program, which entries are being accepted for. It isn't like you can't get the headers; you just have to A) pay $200k or so for a license or B) pay $0 and get it through making other mods and sucking up a lot. Personally, I chose the latter method. (mods being cshp/utpure and demo manager)
2) It is more logical for me to make utilities that can be accepted (i.e. porting my chat logger, which in 2k3 *should* be able to work, without dlls... at least in theory)
So again.. if you guys really want it before next February, try to get the contest rules changed. I'm quite busy these days (far more than when I used to output massive ammounts of mods that is), but with a monetary incentive I can give modmaking a higher priority.
Again, I don't mean to sound "greedy" by any means. I'm merely a bit upset by these rules and also I wish to submit a "winning" product for once in my life. And no, I cannot claim I am a selfless person.. but hey, I don't know anyone that can. (and hell.. I've made exclusively freeware mods for the last 3 years).
