Ok, yeah. I've got the latest versions of ATIs Linux drivers installed, but I get problems. I type in ut2003, and I get the logo thingy. It then goes away, and my console gives me this:
Virax@darkstar:~$ ut2003
Couldn't set video mode: Couldn't find matching GLX visual
History:
Exiting due to error
Any ideas?

Anyhow, I think it has to do with the fact that direct rendering is at a No. Any ideas how to chane that?

Don't know if you've resolved this yet, but after you get the ATI drivers installed (sometimes you have to manually compile them, my Mandrake 8.2 system made me. the RPM will mention if you do) you have to run fglrxconfig, which will generate a new XF86Config file, complete with Direct Rendering. You also need to make sure that DRM is NOT compiled into your kernel, or it will load conflicting modules.
There's probably a lot more depending on the specifics of your system, but... good luck.

I have the same problem....
I have run fglrxconfig, but then direct rendering is still "no"...
I have a radeon 9700 pro and I have download the FireGL Xfree 4.3 drivers.... but I have the same error of Vixar when I try to run UT2003!!!
Any suggestion??
Help Me!!!!
Thanks, bye

Marco... when you say the Xfree 4.3, you mean the open source XFree86 4.3 ATI Radeon drivers? Last time I checked, they only supported up to the Radeon 9000. The semi-proprietary drivers on ATI's site only support up to XFree86 4.2... You ARE running XFree 4.3, I assume? In short, I don't think Direct Rendering is possible with the 9700 yet.
