Well i have now finished Osiris map and its now up to revision 2 as the final one. After loads of beta testing and irioning out loads of tiny tiny places you could trans out of the map, after loads of rebuilding and changes. Its now done. Now loads of thnx to all the beta testers for their help with the testing.

Looks great and really nice layout and flow. Nice looking skybox and awsome music.
My only problem with the map is it appears to be more geared towards instagib than for play with normal weapons. While playing your map I go the distinct feeling you play instagib only based on your weapon layout. I see mostly hitscan weapons near the spawns and only 1 RL and 1 goop and NO FLAK that I could easily find!
I liked your shield and health pickups and I really liked the redeemer location with the ability to clear the bomb rooms.
The weapon placement is poor at best. There needs to be a full inventory of weapon spawns in each base. I understand if you don't like rocket spam or flak spam but thats what mutators are for.
The Lightning guns, redeemer, link guns, and shock rifles are in great spots. (which is about all the weapons this map really offers)
The Rocket Launchers need to be near the center room outside on the trail on each teams side.
The mini should be on the second floor of the base near the lightning gun.
The bio rifle should be near the front door to the base for defense.
The flack should be near the goal.
If RL or flak spam occurs thats up to the admin to control, not map makers. If you are really that concerned about spam don't put any ammo near the weapon spawns. If you are still worried about spam then put 1 rocket launcher and 1 flak inside the ball room and let each team fight over it, but in that case put 2 ammo pickups for each weapon next to the weapon spawns in the ball room.
I hope you do something about the weapons, its got a great look and layout, but the weapon placement is enough to make me not consider it a keeper.

Thnx for promos about layout and all. Alltough ive been testing out the weapons and their placement. There has been loads of thinking around their placement so i think we went for the best option. Alltough not everyone might agree.
Now, if all the weapons would be near the base, you couldn't move a lot before fiding a new weapons and gettint your weapon arsenal full really quick. Thisway it (how its placed now)encourages ppl to move a bit to find and get the diff weapons. Flak was taken away due it spamminess. It ruined the map, abit like on skyline. Anyways, some might think we have gone to a good choise of weapons placement and some might not.

this map is really cool :)
I tested it a bit with Zimeon, and he raped me bad :/
It has some cool sniping spots, nice speed run jump pads, different possibilities of attack routes (for bombing run I mean... ctf sucks ;) ) and is a sooooooo lovely no-flak map :D
flak sucks!
even more than me
I hope the map will be on some cool servers soon so that we can try it 6vs6 :)

Zim,
I had a quick run on the BR version. You did some great improvements from the version I tested a few days ago.
and especially on FPS. Much higher this time. great.
The Bomb spawn room was uncomfortably dark for me. (My eyesight isn't the greatest, so this might just be my problem).
There is a spot, when running to the Red base, where a column is broken and leaning against the giant sitting statue's leg... I should be able to run through the broken column and the upright column.... if not, make it more obvious that I can't.... I was running along and blam...
Great job though... I know you worked hard on this.

Ive got this map waiting to get hosted on a few unreal modding sites so hopefully a few new mirrors soon. Also im abit stunned how little comments this map has got :( Does it suck that much or what ?

Great map, good layout, and great music :up: hopefully it will get on some servers soon, as I said Zim, I can get Anck to put it on the [GOD] server, hopefully we can have a game on it soon. :D

Ive just played the map for about 30 mins with bots. Both the ctf and the br version. And I think its FANTASTIC !! Great work Zimeon. Definetly a keeper ! It both plays well and looks great, weapon placement is thought out and its great. Aswell itemplacement. Cant think of anything bad about this map.

Works fine on my p700 and gf2 gts. About the same as i get in any other map that shipped with the game.

My graphics card is pretty **** but not that bad. I get between 20-30 on alot of maps and thats when out in the open, so I don't know what's going on here.

WOHAA ! Wtf ? That doesent seem like my map tough, i dont have light spot like that. But still. What system do you have ? Could u take a screenshot on top of one of the anubis statues (blue or red base) and look towards the other base. Thats the heaviest points of the map. But still, wow. U sure you dont have detail levels cranked up and stuff like that.
For me and all the beta testers the map has worked better than several maps that shipped with the game.
And yes, the map has several anti-portals to crank up the fps. If you fire up the editor you notice there are anti-portals inside the mountain at keypoints so they would be as effective as possible.

Looked more carefully on you screenshots. Have you rebulided my map without lightning ? atleast seems like that as you weapons in perfectly dark and the ground is unlit. If you have looked at my level in the editor so then plz rebuild the level totally. Alltough im sure it wont work with the others as it will most likely have different size. So i urge you to download the file again or then unpack the levels.

That's not it. My graphics card is just that bad. The fps are about the same elsewhere outside. Still doesn't explain why I get such low fps while looking at a wall though. Since you can see all of the outside at once though, if you get decent fps there you'll still get good fps while looking at a hill so it's not a problem.
I have a Voodoo3 btw (don't laugh) but I'll be replacing it very soon. Most of the newer wont even run on it so hooray for Epic and DE.

Ok, that explains it (voodoo3). Aint really ment to work with ut2k3 that good. Sorry to hear that you cant play this map :( Still i have no clue why the two screens look so wierd. Like you would play without lightning or sumting.

The only problem i was having was with FPS in 3 spots at each base. When heading for the lightning gun on the second tear of the base, FPS would drop to about 12-15 also in the goal/flag room if you stand in front of the goal/flag and look out the door i was getting around 15 also. the other spot i noticed was right out side the front door. And its not like i have a bad system either. my system is above the max requirements for the game. Other then that I really like the map, and I would definitely keep both maps if you could fix those 3 spots.:up:

NeoPhoenix - Yea true, there are two points in the map that are extremely heavy. one is inside next to the doorway out and on top of the nose of anubis. I were fighting with this alot. U should have seen the fps before i set up antiportals underground.

Really nice map:
I have fews complains (minors):
-like not enough weapons pickup in the middle.
-A bit too dark in the outside.
-Only one exit from the flag rooms (AFAIK) so it's pretty easy to defend, even more since the defenders can just wait at the entrance with mini/ LG and it'll be a nightmare to get in and even worst to get out :cry:
-A bit more Health for the FC in the middle would help too ;)
-It wouldn't hurt to work a bit more on the inside lighting ,which is a bit "dull" right now. It's still good, but not superb...
