Folks, thanks for all the feedback regarding the final version. Here is a revision to the final.

VERSION HISTORY

1.0 (REVISION 1):
* Released 01/02/2003
* Slowed speed of the elevators. You can now do the lift jump from the lift to the middle level floor. You can't lift jump to the redeemer anymore (I think).
* Fixed piping around elevators so that you don't bump your head when lift jumping.
* Fixed piping around Damage Amplifier so you don't bump your head.
* Expanded blocking volumes around piping near the pit of death so you don't bump your head trying to use the boots from the pick-up spot to the middle level floor.
* More use of anti-portals.
* Better zoning.
* Set cull distances on some meshes and fluid surfaces.
* Rotated the lava pit. Don't ask why.
* Fixed some lava zones around the lava pit.
* Removed some unnecessary subtractive BSP.
* Changed some textures around elevators and other areas.
* Changed the preview pics to indicate revision change.
* Renamed some of the files to indicate revision change.
* Updated the readme file.
* Other items were fixed or changed that I can't remember...

I'm not sure if it runs better now but I did fix some zoning issues, etc.
My rig is a slow horse. In any map, if I have 8 bots or more then I'm in the toilet with fps...
I'm ready for a CPU upgrade...

Looking good Teddie.
If you end up doing another revision, any chance of removing the Deck16 room? You could put the deck16 door/sign against the wall there without having the whole room. People camp there in 1v1, etc. It didn't seem like it had a purpose besides showing the Deck16 (which is a great touch btw), but it would be nice if that could be done without the room :)

It doesn't need to be removed. It just needs a blocking volume there so people don't translocate in there. (who uses the trans in DM and 1 on 1 tho?? That is lame)

Plumb, yeah there's a blocking volume there to bounce out xlocators.
I think UTISNTQUAKE is talking about the circular room that connects d16 and d17. I think.

I think you're right after re-reading his post.
If he is talking about the little circle room, then his view is totally valid... people do camp a lot in there (even bots, lol). Maybe if it had another small hallway connecting it to the Lower flak room then that would decrease camping since they would have to watch more than one direction. Or get rid of the room. Or just fack it all...

hey teddie, im just loading the map and i can say one thing before i'll test it: i was never a deck 16 fan and hadnt played it so much, but u can be sure now, that ive become a deck fan ;) - or exact, a deck 17 fan :D

hey, my judgment :haha:
ive just played deck 17 and i love it. one of my favorite 3 remakemaps, one of my favorite 10 customermaps and dm-maps and one of my 20 ut2003-maps eva ;) - nice work. its a great idea with the transition deck 16 (biohazard) and deck 17 (magma refinery) :up:
there are many cool textures that u have imported. the lighting is good, just on some places i would say the lighting is to bright.
excellent work with the emitters and good presentation of the air nipple :haha: i hope u know what ive meant.
its also a nice idea with the "you are here - maps" that u can find somewhere in the map :up: - the jumboots are working perfect, greetz to the fut team! - what else...? super performance and a nice song-remake. so, my last word:
this archive include 2 very great ut remakes, one to look and one to hear :D

I gotta say, this is one of, if not the best DM level I have ever played in 2k3 :D (although, im so used to to climbing out of the GES pool...instant death in lava is a bit weird) v.nice tho:eek: :up:

HM, no problem. ... erm, about the textures, why? I created those in photoshop. They're not in any of the retail texture packages.

But I think I might have scaled them even bigger than the players actual feet in the game. Do a viewbehind 1. I used a pawn to size them up. But I might have forgotten to when I switch over to mr. evil's "my level" boots script. But I think the size is okay next to a pawn.

well, im just searching some other great maps :D - and i think also a one-room-map will rockz and be cool, but only if the map have some walls that separete the room and if the map have different flats, maybe a pool and a garden, yes.

and teddie, ive found another cool map from u - DOM-Decks. great ideas, cause both decks :D - im loadin... maybe, u get my judgement here, but only later :haha:

Grab them both if you feel the need. The maps BR/CTF are pretty different from each other.
