I've tried to find a compromise between the retail UT2003 maps, which are gorgeous, and one of my favourite levels from Unreal Tournament which is extremely playable.
Hopefully a side effect will be that the map will run well on machines towards the lower end of the UT2003 system requirements.
The layout is tweaked from the original version to take into account the increased speed of UT2003 and the new dodge and jump moves. Certain areas are more open to allow extra room for these - others are more closed to allow defenders a chance against fleeing flag carriers with Speed adrenaline.

I know I won't be able to please everyone, but this is my homage to Coret Facility - hopefully you will find it fun to play.

:)

I'm a n00by mapper but my version of Coret will be very different from yours :)

Mine should (hopefully) run well on lower spec PCs and isnt hugely decked out with loads of decoration - I've gone more for something that looks halfway between the original Coret and your average 2k3 map. My main priority was playability with the new moves available in 2k3 so some tweaks like the width of corridors etc and some choke points I've changed to allow the new dodge moves and hopefully to allow defenders a bit of a chance against "Speed" powered flag carriers etc.

anyhow - NaliCity approval is pending (uploaded yesterday) and I'll be uploading to more soon.

Playability wise it got a favourable response last night when I put it on a bookable over at http://gaming.blueyonder.co.uk/ in fact considering the map had only been available publicly for 3 hours the players we got had a blast :) and that was my priority - not the eye candy

Your map looks great tho - all the best and good luck with it :) shout when it's ready and I'll deffo download

I am interested to see what it plays like so I will download it when I get back home Sunday night.

Its good to see people are catering for low end spec systems
I am placing the eye candy in but even with it 50% optimised I am hitting excellent FPS with 8+ bots in a corridor.

The corridors have been altered for dbl jumps and dodging etc. Also the main central area and base will be about 30% bigger.

I loved coret from the original demo, thought it would be a good map to convert.

Keep up the good work.

Nice map! I always liked Coret, and this was a good version of it. It felt a bit like playing a game of laserdome, especially in the middle part of it. Nice big hallways. Good fps as well, that is great! :)

Glad you liked it - thanks for posting :)

I realise it won't be what lots of people want - but having made it for myself I'll be pleased if anyone else likes it too

It's a great map, but there's only one problem. The 'maze' thingy in the middle of the map. It's soooo different :(

SylverFyre's version is great, (PS. w00t blueyonder r00lz), but have anyone made a more faithful conversion?

Game flow and FPS are great, but the textures and meshes you used were . But you definiately acomplished your main goal. :)

JUST CALL IT CORET! I'm sorry for the outberst but I like the name the whay it is, and I hate it when people go nuts and name a remade UTMap and give it things like this AgonyIII -LE-GFE! It's dumb looking and just roonins the map.
