After reading destroyed beauty again it makes me wonder if imulsion has anything to do with the story besides causing national conflict. Maybe that was what kept the Locust underground and stable because they had a limitless supply of this stuff I mean you have to wonder how they lived. But maybe the Imulsion is some sort of trigger like red to a bull. Post your thoughts about Imulsion to the story.

The gameplay will be based somewhat on it as well. I saw in one vid where you were hearing... someone... I forgot who, talk over the intercom to you, it's in the night vid, where you need to get to some immulsion reserves. That indicates to me that it is an important part of the story.

It's "An inside look at Gears of War" it's just the story and backround. From early on, one of the first things that came out for gears. Go to GoW at Gamespy and It'll help you figure it out.
maybe the imulsion is some sort of food or bi-product of the Locusts,
maybe its even there bath water?

Gears of War is just taking a page from our current times, where nations have gone to war under the guise of a threat to pretty much steal natural resources.

Imu:D lssion is probably a big part of it. i mean why else would the Locusts choose to attack now and not 300 years ago. maybe the imulsion wars weakened the crust or something so the locusts could break through.

hey ppl, i'm confused on something. We all know that a civil war just happened on Serra then Emergence day comes and the fighting stops. Well, in the trialer you start off in solitary confinment and pretty much get straight to the fighting. They don't say anything about the civil war during the trailer so I hope they mention it later on in the game.

Perhaps the Locust use Imulsion in some way in their cycle of reproduction... Though this is a long shot, maybe when the Humans / Serans uncovered and used the imulsion, the Locust saw this as a direct, unprovoked threat to their existence ?

Are you talking about the SP demo at E3 06? If so, there is probaly a opening sequence they didnt show, or in fact they go into that later, this game lays heavily on plot!

Gotta love the plot. I wasn't thinking about mating, but perhaps imulsion creates conditions where the Locust can reproduce ( be it through eggs or what not ). Eithier way it would make a good explaination as to why the Locust are so brutal and thorough in their attacks on the Humans... Im sure that if our existence was put under threat by some other race, we would not hesitate to curbstomp it back to hell.

I think epic will want you to get into the game nearly from the off as there is nothing then playing like halo 2 for the frist time and waiting ages to ACTUALY play the freaking thing .
he Imulsion is the source of there mutation so I go with the mateing thing ;) .

imulsion didnt just start a war between the humans, but because the humans were using so much of the imulsion the locust got angry and finnally burst up from the ground and kill everyone, in a way, the humans are bad and the locust are good

And we have definite confirmation that the Locust needed imulsion?
