A lot of the background music in the MTV show was from the game. Mostly the suspense type music.

I know there won't be any metal in game, but a chance for the credits? I know Cliffy (like me) is an 80's rocker!!!!

I've read, that Jesper Kyd (wow, this quick reply editor has dynamic spelling check :D) is doing "some" (I hope a lot) music for gears. I love his Hitman soundtracks - I've never heard any rock or metal-style songs of him, but yes, metal would match to several scenes in the game :)

/edit: regarding the "dynamic spelling check" :rolleyes: - it's my new browser: the new firefox 2.0 alpha 3, now somehow called "bon echo" - nah, nevermind

Kevin Riepl is a great composer and I appreciate that he uses electric guitar in his music. I acctually listen to a few of the heavier tracks from UT2004 in my playlist at work, he's right up there with Sonic Mayhem, if not above.

i personally hope that there is some rap, maybe a little jazz and some funk in it. :D

Nothing against you, but shooters are just better w/a little Metal thrown in... or a whole lot ;)

I agree......metal would fit well in the game. Not to much, just enough to get the blood pumping.

In this case both are doing some music, plus maybe a guy from epic who makes music, but I know Jesper Kyd contributes some songs. He already did that piano song in the Unreal Engine 3 revealing movie which was shown on e3-2004... in that tech demo video you can see a lot of assets from gears of war, especially the enemy models, and epic is used to use music and other assets from their games in their tech demos

/edit: okay, now I was on Kevin's website, what confirms that he is doing the music officially and denies that there is an epic guy - but nevertheless, CliffyB said Jesper also makes some music, and I adhere to that statement because I am a Jesper Kyd Productions fan :p *tongue*

haha yeah i think itd make the game boaring and less suspenceful, but with gears, nothing could possibly make it boaring:D

This is just my opinion but i would like to see maybe AvengedSevenFold or Metallica make songs for GoW.

Rap in a sci-fi shooter? *shutters* eww...

Actually, putting in a well known band sucks unless there's no words to identify it too much. The best thing that comes to mind is Megadeth's Duke Nukem Theme. Now THAT is AWESOME! LET'S ROCK! *JAM*

I wonder if they'll have any lighter you know emotionaly upsetting music for like the sadder bits like i dunno one of delta squad (like dom) get's killed or something?

EDIT: And marcus is holding his hand as he's coughing up blood and dom is telling him to tell his wife that he loves here and to make sure they find a way to kill the locust, then dies and marcus takes his dogtags and gets even more pissed off with the locust... i'd laugh if this does actually happend XD
