One thing that I always like in a game is to be able to switch controls around, kindof like halo. Personally I prefer to melee an or chainsaw:D :D :D
with a trigger or rb/lb. That is one thing that would make the experience better for me, but I'm sure I'd still have a blast if it doesn't happen.

You could just switch to a different weapon like the shotgun melee attack them with that. Its just nice to see a change with melee attacks, including the chainsaw in a game (Epic, you guys are Brilliant!)

Most likely the option will be there. rb or lb seems like a good place from melee! Considering how often we will be chainsawing... :)

yeah, i really hope that we can fully customize the control scheme. ususally a game comes with good controls by default, but i can usually find something i kinda wanna switch but don't have the option to because there are just 3 predefined control layouts. i loved that BLACK let me choose which button does what, and i hope that Gears does the same.

I don't mean like that, I mean, like the other replies said, to use the rb or lb to melee. I know epic has it set as B right now and from playing halo I know that it's kind of akward when you get so up close and personal to hit that. But that's just me, that's why I think it would be great to have it changeable. Just so I can chainsaw the crap outta everyone!!! LOL;)

That's why I think it should be optional, but who knows, i may just like the button config.

That was my misunderstaning. Most 1st/3rd person shooter have some different types of control like southpaw and inverse. But hopefully you can change the conrtolls to your choice.

I think it was UC2 that didn't, but I'm not entirely sure. If there is, I never used it. The controls are fine.

Now, of course it's gonna have inverted and all, but there could be a lot more options. Halo did good with that but still you had to use a preset. I think it should be like pc games where you can set certain actions to certain buttons and only change one or two things if you want.
