Dodgeable Melee

I think Gears is going toward the real side of war, and dodgeable melee would make sense. I'm definitely not wanting to get chainsawed everytime I get around a corner. The chainsaw is a very cool feature, when you're at the right end of it.

Indefinately. Sword in Halo = one hit cheap fest. Coup de Grace in UC2 = Can't get out of (unless you awaken). Gears = Guy's sawing you in half, if you hit the right combo, you blow his head off with whatever weapon you have.

The chainsaw melee move is viewed from a different camera so I assume once the chainsaw gets going, you're dead meat. Someone did mention something about counter moves though. Either way, that guy gets his chainsaw revvin first and you should be dead meat, don't you think?

Maybe you can counter the chainsaw somehow,
i doubt it though,
because it looks pretty easy to avoid in the first place.
you can just jump out of the way or blast some lead into them before they get near you.

Yeah but maybe it could be like dodging a sword in hao where if you press a direction at the just right time youll dodge it and what if to chainsaws attack each other will they connect and grind or bounce off or eill it be whom ever got the attack first even if its by a split second.

Actually, it really isn't hard to kill someone when they have a sword in halo because it has such a limited range, the plasma pistol is much more of a problem to me. I think if you allow someone to get close enough to chainsaw you in half then you deserve it.

I think they will include a way to dodge it, but i think people need to realize this isnt a run and gun, making it hard to run toward someone and chainsaw them without getting shot.

When i played the multi player at E3 you couldnt dodge it or at least no one knew how. The camera screen turns on its own and its almost like a cinematic going on its real fun. Also one of the best things is that when you shoot an enemy down you can come up to him and stop his head and kill him or if you on the same team you can pick him up and his good to go back in to the battle again. Its like getting shot criticaly. I did hear from GoW booth guys that you will be able to dodge stuff in game , but i dont know if he ment bullets or chainsaw. Not sure , but any how at least you will be able to dodge something. :)

Im guesing the guy at the booth was talking about dodging the chainsaw attack because he surely wasnt talking about dodging bullets. I don thave a problem with an counter attack, but if they dont impliment one just bust out the shotty and fire before he gets close. Thats what i used to do in Halo 2.

If someone has the reflexes(for when you round a corner), teamwork(Covering fire=one guy, flank & saw=you) or stealth(sneaky sneaky!) to chainsaw someone, then they freaking deserve it! another....

I hope you can evade the meele attacks because I know there will be a bunch of people jus running straight at you and trying to cut you to pieces. So i hope they have somethin that you can do to avoid gettin chainsawed every time.

i think they will have a quick counter(button smashing, mini game, button combo?) that lets u evade the chainsaw, thats if ur not in ur "down but not out" postion.

If your going to just run out and chainsaw someone, you should be shot down before you get near them. GoW is about the use of cover, you can not just run about like a headless chicken.

thats what i'm afraid of.
people will get so good at it that there will be no point in even trying
it would ruin the game so bad
i just think their should be a 15 sided dice (i know its weird just go with it)
and you press A within 3 seconds,
the longer you wait, the more you get chainsaw'd
1 side of the dice has a counter move and 2 others have an escape move
thats my fantasy and i'm sticking to it.

well then maybe it is really hard to do, and barely anyone can pull it off unless they get lucky, and or maybe u can turn counter off, if the game is that customizable

I got out of a chainsaw. I don't know how but somehow one of my teammates saved me in the middle of being chainsawed, I will never for get it.

That'd be cool if shooting them always worked. That chainsaw sucks you in from far away half the time even if you're shooting at them. I'm glad God mode is gone in GOW2.

I have a question in GoW2 if you kill the person when they just started chainsawing your teamate does your teamate die, and also can you shoot someone in the middle of a chainsaw battle?
