Hi everyone. When I was looking into previous ideas of xbox games like Halo (1 and 2) and half life I was struck with a cool idea in my opinion. I was thinking if for multiplayer , GOW would adopt the communication features of halo. Not only adopt it but make it better. I know it may be a little to late to add features such as this to GOW but you can always add it to part 2 or as a patch. Well the basic premise to my idea is when you talk the characters mouth moves also, not only that but everyone hears it, enemies hear it if they are close by or by echo. I forgot what games I’ve played (but I’ll get the name) but they included jammers to communications. hit someone in a certain location and their communication device is unable to be used. and etc. So my basic premise is the manipulation of communication. Well its an idea and its probably to late but its a suggestion for the future.Let me know what you think

I was also thinking about an active environment were you can physically change the coverpoints. You throw a grenade at a pillar, blows up into pieces and their are homemade coverpoints. But I’m not a designer and they already probably thought of it and I don’t want to step on their toes.

I have a couple more, but then I'll probably get bashed for the ideas. So I won't say anything unless someone from epic or a huge movement of post call for it.

In the E3 05 vid. He blew up the car leaning against the wall and it fell on the ground where he got cover behind it. I wouldn't doubt this feature will be in the game! :)

i love that part soooooo much, i think that they will have certain things like the car u can use as cover and or use to make cover, but i dont think "everything" will be like that, most likely they will have a couple things that are active in every level, and Dom will probably say something like "marcus! we need cover! blow that pillar, NOW!"
BTW 100 posts for me, thats the 3rd highest!

That's called dynamic cover and is something we showed back at TGS last year in the "gas station" level

The communication idea, where enemies would be a great idea. I think games like Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory have that. Physicaly changing the enviorments is going to be SWEEET!!!

They already said this would be in it.. knocking over pillars was like the example they used XD

thats cool man but i think it would be quite a wanted and useful thing. i dont mean to stomp on your opinion and sorry if it seems like that but communication may well play a bigger part than we think. your gonna need to tell team mates the locations of enemies right? (the stream of automatic fire might be a clue!!!:) ) if you want cover you say something like
"cover me from the B**tard up there on my left. behind the low wall" so in that way i hope they emphasize team talk, but what if an enemy hears this? it can work both ways he will move and a cat n' mouse with bullets would ensue. i like the idea even though i just explained it really badly....

You know what I'd like to seein multiplayer I would like to see a mode where it's death match but there is also AI enemies. So it would be two human player teams but there is is also random AI enemies fighting as well that would get pretty chaotic and you 'd have to fight your way to your opponents while watching out for the AI enemies.
If one of the AI kill one of your team mates your team loses a point or whatever multiplayer goes by in this game.

GREAT idea! Or a game type where your either the hunter or the hunted (one vs. one) and there are tons of AI bots around making it hard to kill the hunted!

Interesting idea, but unless the dude had his rifle up your behind he would be hard pressed to listen in on your conversation. Bullets are flying, stuff is blowing up, people are dying, it's sort of a polluted atmosphere and when you are trying to zone in on a target that's really all you're thinking about. The best tactic is for that soldier to be experienced and anticipate your most likely movements, not to attempt to overhear your conversation. I realize that some games have audio as a little gameplay mechanic, like the enemy will yell out to his buddy to flank you. That's really all it is though, a gameplay mechanic. In reality the last thing you want to do is yell out that you're flanking someone, much easier to use hand signals or talk when you are closer to your buddy. Imagine multiplayer gameplay where not only do you have to listen to your three teammates, but to the chatter of the other four players on the other team.

Yeah i always wanted to see that it would keep a good pace going in multiplayer and if points were to be deducted for being killed by one of them it would keep the match going and would help reduce one team destroying the other fast.I mean if you look at a game like Halo and one player on your team quit it throws the matches right off.
If someone were to quit in your game it's not going to be well here comes the other team to smoke us because they still have another threat tryingto get them and keeps the playing field fair still

That was the worst thing about playing Halo 2, hearing some annoying kid talking about stupid things. Team chat is cool you dont need to hear the other team. Maybee when you kill them they can hear you for like 3 seconds so you can talk some trash but that's it!

Trash talking is great for when you just want to have some fun. It will be funny to hear people go crazy on you because you keep on chainsawing them to death. But for Clan matches, you should only be able to communicate to your teammates during the match.

ya dude thats a great idea. One problem though is that if someone on the other team is annoying, then you gotta listen to them if they're close
