Have any of you ever spent the weeks leading to X-Mas trying your hardest to guess what you got and maybe even sneak a peek at your gifts? When you're young you dont think about how that innocent mischeif could be affecting your parents, they spend all this time and money trying to suprise and amaze you and all they want in return is to see your smiling face when you finally unwrap that Red Rider BB Gun (had to say it:) ) but that small joy is stolen because after all your guessing and cheating the suprise is gone.
Do you think that maybe we're taking away from the folks at EPIC's excitement? They spend all this time creating this amazing game for us and instead of just sitting back and appreciating it, we feel the need to tear into it and ravage it until nothing is a suprise anymore. It's a lame analogy but does anyone else at least understand what I'm getting at? I'm not asking if you agree, just if you understand. I'm gonna pull back on posting my guesses and just wait and be blown away when the time comes.
Thanks for reading.

I get you, but i think the cercumstances are different. I would rather compare the suprises released about gears to hanukkah. Up to release there are a number of suprises and the biggest being on release.
Im not jewish btw... :)

Im not trying to say we ARE but we could be. They could be sitting there thinking "I wish they would just shut up and wait and see what they're gonna get" Like some parents might think around X-Mas (or any other gift giving holiday) and if they're not thinking that then what I said can be disregarded completely but until you get GoW dont worry about it.

I dont see any problem with it, it's only natural if you're interested in something, you will speculate about it with other interested people. Besides, it's not like CliffyB comes on the boards and tells us we're dead on with our theories. Also, I think its kinda fun to speculate, then see how close you got when the actual game comes out. :D

Christmas lost the magic a very, very long time ago for me.... lol
Anyway, now that I'm all grown up I just concentrate on spending time with my family (but not too much) and making my daughter happy at Christmas time.

I'm thinking they're dying to tell us more, but MS don't want to put it all out there for us and other game developers to see just yet. They allow enough to get people hooked, but don't give it all away. It's the drug pusher/addict relationship... The first some odd news/gameplay/vids are free.. Oh, you're HOOKED? Now pay up, son. ;)
The Christmas analogy brought a tear to my eye. Oh how I have fond memories of looking for what I got or waking up early with my brother, put on all black clothes and pulled out flashlights and drew a map to crawl downstairs military style and view how many gifts we got before we woke everyone up. *tear*

I think its fine to guess and speculate as long as we don't go so far as demanding a ton of info and *****ing or hacking into Epic or MS computers to find internal memos or some stuff like that.
