tHANKS EPIC for making a TPS!(third person shooter)

THANK you EPIC for NOT making another FPS(first person shooter) very few people understand that many get motion sickness from FPS.and I say if I have to pop pills to play a video game I would rather not play it.Many Japanese have motion sickness with FPS as well that's why shooters there have stuck with third person-GEARS will do well in JAPAN because it thought about the gamers who are often ignored by developers-THANKS AGAIN EPIC!

I prefer 3rd person in general, I was never a huge fan of FPS to begin with. CliffyB was absolutely right when he said there is more play to be had with a more 3rd person perspective.

First Person Shooters don't really give me motion sickness, there are just too many of them. I mean, what will seperate this FPS from this FPS. When I see a TPS, I want to check it out, because it is usually something new. :) Also, you can see what is happening around you more which is cool.

by the way, i had a friend that threw up while i was playing prey. Thats how bad it is for him

if it wasnt 3rd person the cover wouldnt work and they would have to take out alot of features

I personally like 3rd person better than 1st Person cuz you can actually see what you guy is doing

yea, thats true! i never thought of that.:) but anyway, i prefer TPS's because u can see the detail on ur guys armor, and u can see whatever is happening around the environment.:cool:

EWWW GROSS!! jk...but that is pretty nasty...when i was playing Prey it would kinda give me a small headache, but other than that, it wasnt too bad.

Gears is kinda like a 3rd and 2nd person shooter because you can zoom in pretty close but still see your character-Who in EPIC said hey lets make it 3rd person?-I wanna shake that person's hand-because I know someone said let's make it first person.

I remember at a lan party I got together with a bunch of friends to play the origional halo but we had a guy who had motion sickness. We made a deal that he could only drive the warthog and we were not allowed to blow him up or shoot him, so eventually his teammates were in the passenger and gunner seats and they made us break that rule fast. So yeah, overall for his sake and the group's sake, thank you epic for a TPS.
P.S. At one point he threw up while trying to get back into the hog:D

Gears of War is shaping up to be the next big thing for 360, I truly think its' going to smoke halo 3. thrid person shooters are the best shooters I personally think. I had never really enjoyed a fps until halo, halo 2 big disappointment (sorry), but call of duty 2 has opened my eyes to the possiblities. What I have notice with third person shooters (my personal favorites) is they often lack a level of emergence into game play and urgency.

Move them off to the side some, like in Splinter Cell or GoW... gosh...

someone give me the skinny of fps, I've played paintball and shoot a rifle and I still have a better perspective in real time than most fps. I would really like to see more than just my left hand and the barrel.

Ive been playing fps games since the original doom and have never suffered from motion-sickness (although my mum does and cant watch me play them haha). Once though I had a massive hangover and whilst playing EQ2 (in 3rd person perspective) and I had to stop cause I nearly puked on my keyboard (:( ewwwww!). that said i do prefer tps games these days as there have been sooo many fps shooters.

I dont care if people already said the same as me but anyways...I think FPS's are awsome , but TPS's are better , like Cliffy said their is so much more play to be had , and in FPS's when your player gets stuck on something you dont know what it is and you get killed.If GTA was first person it wouldnt have done so well , actually it wouldnt have worked at all , just like gears would be **** if it was an FPS , the cover system would be gay , and the chainsawing would be boring.

well, I played UC2 exclusively in third person. first person was soooo weird. The extra view, mobility and awareness are the things I like about tps. I think epic did a great job with the integrating of third person in that game, so I guess they'll do an even better job with GOW :)

I always get sick when I have to watch other persons playing any game fast game. it gives me a headache and it's like I'm spinning, also, when I have to search hard for something in a game and I just run around in a game, I get this feeling.

tps is way better i mean, in halo they developed a cool character and you can't even see him when u play, in tps u can see how cool your character looks like.

Never being a big fan of FPS's, but I will play them if I like the game enough to ignore the fact that it's a FPS. Most of them just seem like the same old thing over and over again, it seems like there's very little scope for new elements of gameplay, and the viewpoint limits what you can do with the gameplay in the first place. I remember a friend showing me Doom on the PC, after a while I felt sick and went off to play Resident Evil instead. :)

I wish it was like Fallout 3 and had a first-person/third-person toggle. I've always been an FPS fan, as it makes a game more immersive.
