Hello, this is my first message on this brand new forum :) Im an old school PC user loving FPS and 3th person shooters. Since I would need to upgrade my PC (P4 3.3ghz, Ati x850xt with 2gig of rams) to the next gen games, I think I will get a 360 instead. The exclusive 360 games look awesome and GoW just got my love.

My only concern is the GoW framerate. As a PC gamer, the framerate is a really big deal. GoW has gorgeous graphic but did you noticed the framerate isnt always perfect ? it dropped around 20 fps in the E3 gameplay demo sometimes? dont get me wrong, its not the video media Quality or something else. Bad frame per second (fps) affect the gameplay so much, ever more when I have to aim with a gamepad. This is the only bad part of the game that scaring me a bit and really hope they will fix it for an average 40-60 fps (if it's possible) But whatever the frame rate will be, I will buy a 360 and I will buy GoW :)

P.S im canadian french so, sorry for the bad english. thx

well it depends on your media player also. from what i've seen the frame rate is fine. If you see some of them in Hd from Ign then i think you can see its on par or exceed it with it's frame rate.

Sebaz is right. The framerate has gotten much better since the first videos surfaced online.

XoN, welcome to the GoW forum. What is Frame Rate? Sorry if you think I am stupid.

Yes, Sebaz is right. You can see them on MTV.

The most general definition of Frame Rate would be how fast an image can be drawn and displayed in a monitor, and is usually measured in sec (FPS).

If a games fps is 30, then the image is reloaded 30 times a secound. If it were to drop you would see chopyness in the animation.

Oh, thanks for telling me know, ban. I also understand now. ;)

Don't worry, it's a demo build. Issues such as framerates are usually resolved by the time games hit the shelves. Knowing Epic, framerates won't be an issue by the time you pop the disk into your 360.

Ya thats really good for a game like this. :) very glad! Plus he said that was multiplayer which means single will run even better (a little bit) :)

30-40 fps with a lot actions on the screen would be perfect, let's hope Cliffy's words will be true. If it is, this game will be a masterpiece ! :)

I believe I saw a quote that said they are polishing the game and making maps. So I assume issues like framerates are being addressed or already have been.

Microsoft requires that all Xbox 360 titles run at least at 30 FPS to be certified.

And that means at least 30FPS at all times. So don't worry about it.

On xbox you don't really notice it anyway. It's different from CS where 80 and 100 fps matter alot :P

I heard some games like GRAW have some slowdowns sometimes, or bad fps in actions moment (single play version) and what about Oblivion, I tested it on a xbox 360 core version 1 month later, when a lot characters appearing at the same time, it dropped below 30 fps for sure... :S or this 360 from my blockbuster was broken ? maybe im just too picky about framerate but this factor could tell me if a game was well optimized by the developpers or not.

Just look at Ps3 and xbox 360, the hardware are kinda similar, no one here could tell me what console is the best for overall graphic pictures, (all new instructions features like HDR and shaders) ! both consoles will probably give similar eye candy looking graphic when u will look on screenshots for a multi-plateform game like Ranbow Six; Las vegas or Bioshock, screenshots will be identical, the big deal will be the framerate, the control and the online service (xbox live). So the framerate, if a game is smooth without slowdown in heavy action, its all about optimization for the developpers AND the hardwares. The war just began! :)

I am sure Epic has things under control.

We're talking about the 3 single-cored processing 2.4 gighz each Xbox 360 with 512 mb's of RAM.

It's cool.

(Althought Bethesda should of spent more time on Oblivion and optimised the performance with Xbox 360)

As long as the framerate stays over 20, then i´m happy

I'm sure everything will be smoothed out by the time its released. I'm new to this forum and I wanted to give a big up to Epic for creating a game that will set the bar so high that even Hollywood will question themselves when it comes to making a 'blockbuster'.

To clarify, this means you could potentially play the game upside down in a yellow submarine at thirty fathoms travelling at approximately sixty-five knots while avoiding depth charges and large blue whales - And the game would still run at 30 fps. Impressive, no?

I like oblivion alot, but the framerate issues are kind of annoying! This is the only game that does this on my 360. I think Bethesda should had spent more time with optimizing the game instead of making patches for new things in the game.

Last time I tested this case, it ran way faster than that.

I imagine it would get on the testers' nerves after awhile. But if you were to get rid of the upside-down-yellow-submarine-simulators then all those poor guys at the upside-down-yellow-submarine-simulator factory are out of work...It's a hard knock life eh ;)

The frame rate might have some issuses but the crew at epic are amazing and i have no doubt in my mind that there will be no problems with the frame rate when the game comes out. They also have plenty of time to tune and finish the game. I know youll make me proud Epic. This is to the two people talking about oblivions framerate problem and the thing you have to understand is that oblivion has so many things going on and it has such a huge world that there is gonna be a little bit of a frame rate problem but i do agree that is does get a little annoying sometimes.
